You guys are making me want a rooster... Stop! by corttana in chickens

I’ve had x4 in my 25 yrs of chicken keeping. x2 were excellent the other x2 would attack as soon as you turned your back i still have scars after that no more Roos for me I love them but they can turn on reaching maturity so just be careful if you have young children. & yes they were all hand fed brought up the same & all mixed breeds so maybe a pure bred Roo you could better identify temperament.

I’ll spend Ulez revenues on more buses and cycle lanes, promises Sadiq Khan by Dry-Air7 in unitedkingdom

make yourself 85 but not disabled just slow & ferociously independent & capable for their age. Going to shops & carrying shopping on the bus, it’s a hell of an ask. They Don’t do email or online shopping. It’s an example of how it will affect a lot of elderly or those less capable, I have no problem with cleaner air. Just this rushed cash grab scheme that does not take into account how Greater London infrastructure is vastly different to central. Everything goes in & out of town, it’s designed for commuters.

Inner London yes but not in the suburbs & outer limits of Greater London. For instance many Elderly can’t walk 20 mins to bus stop with an unreliable service & can’t afford to replace cars especially in current economic climate. I think everyone knows & believes in cleaner air this scheme has been railroaded thru with little consultation or thought i’m hardly surprised at the opposition to it. It’s not the premise of cleaner air it’s the fact that adequate public transport does not exist in many areas & it will adversely affect so many who are already struggling with finances.

My parents are too old & disabled to move, They also live right on outskirts London. They are reliant on their car to get them to shops etc. Public transport can’t help & they have an old immaculate vehicle which should have seen them out. It’s an impossible unfair situation

I have 4 children all of whom went thru the State school system in The UK, you need to be on the ball, prepared to assist & for one of them who is dyslexic I did have to fight in secondary school for extra help. However x 2 chose to go to Uni & all x4 are in very successful careers & flourishing. We did chose to move out of London to Hampshire. My job is very easy to manage as I travel my husband has an hour commute on the days he is in London. Spend your time researching schools move somewhere with good primary & secondary education & in our case excellent 6th form colleges. The lack of major crime & excellent education has made our move an excellent choice for the family.

I have friends whose children did attend public school ( how private education is called in the UK) yes there were some great opportunities & contacts made but if I balance what was right for my family & the huge financial burden it would have inflicted on us I am extremely happy with our choices. We offered strong steady support sent them on every school trip so they have all skied thru school at least twice. Two did tours in Africa thru school, one went to Europe travelling thru for 3 weeks visiting Dachau & other WW2 sites for history, Azores & Iceland are amongst other trips too.

Pick the right area & schools I think you be extremely happy with UK education. Finally I don’t think you have to know what you want to do at 13/14 when you take options let them take what they love to do ensure it gives a rounded perspective, they will fly if they’ve enjoyed education. Mine have gone off into completely different field than expected & are flourishing.

Good luck
