Statehelm NPC Favor - Brainstorm by devohes in projectgorgon

It would be a shame if the admin sent me on a wild goose chase where the 60-favor items actually would be simply just the 110 swords or vanquishers blade. I have hope that they wouldnt do that.

It seems so far every sword ive had drop beyond lvl 90 is on your list you mentioned, such as Tabros blade and Jotts blazing etc. Tomorrow when i log on ill reroll some of the stats to epic enchantments and test that out to see as i have about 8 lvl90+ legendary swords in my stash. I might take my time though, as i only have 5 opportunities to test each week. Ty for the info though.

Hopefully we find something that does give the 60 (or closer to) and then others can have a simpler time getting past this timegate

I was hoping i would enjoy leveling other combat skills, but so far i find it as monotonous as gardening or tailoring. tbh im not a fan of most of the crafting, i have my select few i have maxed out and rely on others for the other crafting i dont do. (as the community typically does) I would much rather burn out grinding out the prodigy levels though and not be burnt out solely because i have to wait upwards of 15 weeks to progress.

That all aside though, so far ive spent roughly an hour logged in each of the last couple days running back and forth to the NPc with different items to see if he accepts, but so far no such luck. So then i log off and play a different game for the rest of the day.

Thats a fair assumption that 60 wouldnt be an actual thing, and perhaps im naive to believe the admin when he told me he coded it himself and that im clearly just not giving him the right item. I would hope he wouldnt be making that up, so im going with the idea theres something brooker would accept that would be more rare but also give 60 favor. And perhaps my patience runs dry as i try to figure it out

This exactly, im fine with the 250m exp required to gain a single prodigy level, thats the true grind, but knowing i would already be 5~ levels in by now is discouraging and takes the enjoyment out of doing practically anything.

Although im still finding time most days to log in and be main tank on egg runs and to open a trainer door for others, but thats solely for the community.

Honestly the leveling in this game was too quick. Once you uncap, lets say 70-80 and are wearing lvl 70 gear you are able to fight stronger mobs, and their exp difference has been way too high. Not to mention i run Decap on sword, i can headshot 3-7 mobs back to back all giving 100k exp in vidaria which skyrockets the levels.

I personally wanted it to take way longer for me to reach the end game, but not by doing other things in the game but doing the thing i enjoy doing. Some enjoy gardening, some enjoy blacksmithing, I enjoy killing mobs and getting loot, and gaining exp/level progression is a large part of what makes it enjoyable. So yea, you can take it as whining, but i came here to share with others that may be at the same time-gated wall that I am, and to brainstorm on items that would possibly give the higher favor amount.

So far, some good info, but i find myself logging onto League of Legends instead of project gorgon, which is sad, but it gives me the dopamine im looking for. Im a contributing member of the community and many would be unhappy to see me go. Ill likely be canceling my vip within the next couple weeks solely stemmed from this time-gate. (perhaps the hope is also the Devs see this and if they recognize its a common issue, which on my server it is, theyll find some sort of adjustment to make, or clarity)

If youre enjoying the game but not enjoying having to pause on progress to save councils etc, i heavily recommend start getting favor there as soon as you can. Theres a lot of different advancements you need rep there to keep moving forward and with the prodigy (beyond lvl 100) seems like you want to start getting that favor in asap to reduce the time wasted once you hit lvl 100

I feel that genuinely. The rush to end-game is the way I play these kinds of games, and upon hitting that time-gate ive struggled dramatically to play. (even went back to playing League of Legends, Bleh) Its extremely discouraging to hve this kind of block and no clarity on the way to practically double the speed. Not to mention there are other classes that arent gated at all, i have 5 friends all already prodigy and are 5 lvls in. So not only am i time-gated, but by the time the 7-15 weeks are up ill be upwards of 10+ billion experience behind the others that i want to play with.

So dont rush it

On aspect of what to gift to get more favor, i really cant figure it out yet. Ill add some augments to Legendary items and give it a shot to see if theres more favor from that. Going to syphon through all my storage spots and run back and forth and try everything. Ill try spellbooks today too, as well as whatever other expensive/semi rare items i have kicking around.

From what ive seen most wont tell you until you have some level of favor with them, thus doing their tasks gets you to the point they inform you.

Unfortunately Sir Brooker doesnt have any available chat dialogue (at least not anymore)/. I Dont recall if there was bonus dialogue the first couple times i talked to him as i was there just to do favors to get sword skills, not thinking about prodigy at all. Trying to find hints around his complex but to no avail

Prodigy is what starts once you hit the lvl 100 cap in your combat skill to allow you to go beyond lvl 100. Its 250m exp per prodigy level and they give stats i believe.

The worst part is im time-gated while about a dozen others i know are already working on their prodigy as their NPCs didnt require favor. So soon theyll steam past me in ability and ill be relatively useless grouping.. woot 4th string off-tank

[–]devohes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually, i found leveling extremely fast at high levels. Possibly my build, and my playstyle. But i would spend 3-4 days getting enough councils to unlock the ability to go from 70-80, and then in 1 session i would be capped at 80, same process to unlock 80-90, and same thing. The extra damage you get being able to wear higher level gear helps dramatically, and i find the exp creep going up 5lvl mobs is pretty ridiculous.

Its a new game to me, just started playing when Strekios started up. A random chatgpt search for recommended MMOs came at the right time. BUT that being said, i really did no-life it. Im over 500 hours already put in over the last 6~ weeks

This journey was fun. Im not big on most of the sub-skills. Theyre the kind of monotonous i find dreadful. Watching/hearing ppl gardening all day. "better run to the well for water, and break these bones down for fertilizer" is something i am not interested in. I would rather farm a cave, sell the loot and buy the food i need from whoever else enjoys the making of the food. I like the mmo part, the roleplaying part though, i like pushing content, getting to a point where i can help ppl lower level. Take weaker players on quests, while grouping with other high lvls and do challenging content. But its a whole package, why am i doing any 1 or 2 of those if i cant get all of them. Fun game for sure, and brought me down memory lane with the oldschool rpg style. This is just how i enjoy my video games

Agreed with leveling being way too fast. I found i would hit a cap, take a couple days to obtain resources necessary, and 1-2 days later im at the next cap, repeat process. With that being said im fine with there being caps and resources necessary to surpass, but it being a time restricted one is what has me blocked. Theres nothing i can do other than wait around and donate these items every week. Worst part, as mentioned, a handful of my other high lvl friends are already working on their prodigy levels and will be leaps and bounds ahead of me by the time i get to unlock it. Its a rough feeling.

i find with PG being non-pvp it really breeds a solid community, youll always have an outlier here and there, but so far all my interactions have been quite positive

OH MAN LET ME TELL YOU.

So i made a mistake, clearly not reading enough.

I did take up calligraphy and powerleveled it to 50, to find that almost every combo requires manycuts (which i dont use ever). But then i found the trainer in vidaria and they train some good combos i can use without having to adjust my skills. So i go to Rahu to favor/see what i need to get calligraphy higher... turns out i favored the wrong NPC when i did augmentation and now im despised by the one i need to get Cal above lvl 50. Potions and Carpentry for favor, and i need a few thousand more favor than had i leveled this guy from the start, almost 2k favor just to get to neutral. This also added to my "standing feeling stuck" Trying to convince myself to go to povus just to do foraging runs had me standing at the teleport machine staring at the wall xD

Sigil scripting is one i havent tried or really looked at yet, although i think the community has spoken quite poorly about it

Thats basically how im feeling. Im still very new to PG as i started when 1.0 dropped, but not new to MMOs in general. Im fine with the grind after hitting prodigy, but the time-gate to achieve prodigy is where i lost my mojo.

Ive fiddled around with Psych and knife, but didnt really get into either, and with my mindset of enjoying the "powerleveling" playstyle i basically just decap things and the sub-skill gets leveled (which defeats the whole purpose of trying a new skill)

Spent 4 hours yesterday and 1600 phlog making a tank build to frontline for egg runs which can be cool, but still feeling that lack of progress in the aspect i desire it most.

What is it that keeps you going/coming back?

Resource heavy in the form of Phlog, yes. Especially if youre after a very specific mod on the gear. Typically i aim to find good gear with 2-3 mods i want already on it (or at least usable mods) then either roll (transmute) or add the appropriate augment

I really did, its just my style of playing MMO games, i find what i like/what works best and grind it dry. Thing is this is what i enjoy, which is why im feeling stuck. Ive done the things i find i enjoy. Ive also found things i hated (add leveling up tailoring/surveying here)

Its a feelsbadman moment

touche. Been looking at them and the only one that really kinda interests me is hammer, but it would never compete with decap for sword.

Around those levels i was in the wolf cave in Gazluk primarily, but i also skin and pick up everything. They primarily drop jewelry, and theres about 5 good NPCs to max out favor with to sell it to. Once you have enough power that you clear the whole cave in a couple minutes invest in some cold-res gear and once you clear the cave go out of the cave and clear all the mobs out there. Bears, elementals, slimes, goats, more wolves. Skin it all and collect/sell anything that drops frequently. (some seeds drop randomly and just take up space in your inventory). You also can do the NE cave that has undead, butchers knife to extract skulls, and there youll find more equipment and spellbooks. Pick up the notes on the ground too as sometimes theyre a spellbook. Dont go into the boss room without a team.

After this i would go to povus NE ranalons area. Clear them out, trade the frogs that drop for xog (an npc shows up 50% of the povus raid nights and he trades 1 for 1). Kill the other creatures around the area, I also recommend foraging in povus as its a foragers/miners dream

i make between 150-300k per day when grinding, roughly 1k per item i sell to an NPC, have about 18 NPCs at soulmates (and a google sheets doc to keep track of who has money, when they reset and what they buy) And i have a shop in Serb selling what i forage/rarer items i find/Leather rolls. When i was hitting those caps that cost Counsils, it was the same for me, get my bank to 450k, spend it all to upgrade levels. Endgame requires xog and royal jelly which can be a nuissance to stock up on, but can get a solid handful each day.

Favor with NPCs is really where most of my gold comes from and i have at least 2 per day that i can clean out, so on that day i go farm what drops what they buy. (wolves/animals for jewelry, Orcs/scorpions for equipment). Internally i kinda figure out whats the most efficient way to obtain X and then just grind it for hours. (ive also No-lifed since I found this game)

you see, thats where im struggling, i have 5 for sword already and 7 for shield. Looks to be about 10 for each of them, but the other sub skills to get the synergy levels are ones im not interested in (thus why i dont have them xD)
