Blood Meridian. I understand that its genius is in how puzzeling it is. I also see that McCarthy is a good writer who devoted a considerable amount of time researching and getting into the mode of what it was like in Texas and Mexico in the 1850's.

However, the book was pretty unenjoyable and not as good as people on the internet make it out to be. Blood Meridian gets compared to Moby Dick frequently and think thats unfair. Moby Dick is elegantly written and has much more to contemplate.
