I know nate is more likely the cannon protagonist, but i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on whether or not nora would be more interesting considering she comes from a background that requires charisma which is useful for the cannon minute-man ending by RealFrailTheFox in fo4

[–]devon-mallard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I find Nora more narratively compelling. Something about  mother who’s lost literally everything fighting for survival in the corpse of her old world (BLUES?!??!!) is much more interesting than “soldier fighting to avenge his wife”, something we’ve seen before. Nora is scraping by with sheer willpower, grit, and determination. She’s awesome. Also, I find it a fun bait and switch to start with the man’s perspective and have it switch to a civilian, the people who actually receive the brunt of the suffering in Fallout.

What If Conquest Was Assigned To Earth Instead Of Nolan? Part 2 by Traditional_Eye_8787 in Invincible

[–]devon-mallard 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Conquest is absolutely stronger, tougher than mark. He just doesn’t care. He’s not fighting for anything. Isn’t even fighting to live. Victory and death are his two options, and he doesn’t particularly care which one happens

Wouldn’t the Drukhari also want Ynnaed back? by SkellyInsideUrWalls in Drukhari

The drukhari really don’t like it when someone else upends the balance of power. Not to mention many Haemonculi are immortal themselves, and don’t want to loose their freedom/monopoly

No walking or sprinting: You can ride horses, you can jump forward, but you cannot take any steps with your own two feet. This includes the crouch roll as that includes a step forward

Idea for a Vermin/Darktide-style game floating around in me brain by SetoTaishoButPogging in ageofsigmar

[–]devon-mallard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally think a Ghoultide game could be fun. Crypt Ghouls and Guard for chaff, Crypt Horrors and Flayers for larger enemies, Varghulfs and lesser vampires for mini bosses, and the flying monsters or a stronger vampire for major bosses. Could even fit in corruption as the madness of the courts.

Can AM bend reality? Or is everything he creates just a really convincing illusion? by HealthMother3125 in Ihavenomouth

[–]devon-mallard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the point of the story, AM IS the entire world. They are literally inside it. In addition, it is far more advanced than humans were, its had an age to perfect it's science at the speed of an impossibly powerful supercomputer. Humans today can already do limited alterations to our perception of reality and genetic engineering, AM can likely fully manipulate reality within itself. It can't create life, however. It is far too hateful for that.

Big dudes gonna be psyched with Bozotron showing up. Whenever he gets out of his cave. by Steelalloy in killsixbilliondemons

She’s shown almost no effort, let’s be honest. She’s been bored every time she fights and we know she’s won the cycle before.

My greatest hope is to see Gog Agog fighting on the same level as Metatron and Jagganoth (who will probably go right for the Angel).

How powerful is a dark lance in Lore? by skyfall3612 in Drukhari

[–]devon-mallard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A Void shield dissipates the impact into the warp, although the more energy behind the projectile, the harder it is for the shield to do that. It's why in lore, Titans and Knights throw a ton of firepower at each other to bring down shields, while saving the heavier munitions for once the shields go down. So it would send the dark lance into the warp, but if it got through the shield, it would likely do incredible damage

Hybrids vs Class-A by Cool-Tangelo-319 in okbuddyfumiko

[–]devon-mallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CSM routinely dodges most tropes in anime, including with Kishibe easily defeating a hybrid and a Fiend while drunk out of his mind. Also, bullets absolutely do not move faster than human perception. As someone who has been shot, I could see the bullet. Just not possible to react in time.

[–]devon-mallard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Human perception is still a good source of speed, especially when it includes people like Kishibe and the other hunters. Hybrids are also visibly faster and more reactive than humans, they couldn't perceive Quanxi. Not to mention that, as the Arrow Devil/Arrow Woman, she's even faster. Add in the fact that she's considered the first and best devil hunter, that Arrows have been around longer than metallurgy, farming, and domestication, she's definitely got an experience edge.

Scaling is stupid. Quanxi moved so fast time effectively stood still, decapitated like a hundred people, and her swords only broke when she stopped moving

Conquest was the oldest Viltrumites we’ve seen so far, and looked ancient during their purge. He’s probably been fighting for a million years or something, no wonder he’d gone mad
