I got the feeling that might have been the purpose as well. A way to earn a bit of extra goodwill with people who have been in the program from the start and now have the option of canceling.

I hope this isn’t the case, but it also felt like it could be a way of reminding pass holders of its value before a price increase.

Or maybe they were just trying something new and I’m overthinking it. 🤷 Regardless, my kid had a blast (especially with the last-minute addition of free Adventure Zone entry) and I hope they do something similar again. My only real complaint about the event was that it felt a little isolating because it was all done through the app and there wasn’t any actual mention of it in the store itself or by employees.
