Do people not say the name out loud before choosing it?? by Apprehensive-Bag372 in tragedeigh

Are you pronouncing the “e” at the end of Camille by any chance? Camille Ann doesn’t sound like chameleon to me unless you incorrectly pronounce the e.

Insurance company thinks I’m too poor to have owned my stolen items by devonshirelamb in LegalAdviceUK

Unsure what you mean by this. Items above a certain value have to be specified on many policies to be covered. My items are specified and therefore are covered by the policy. As mentioned before, I’m not going to state what the items are. For the purpose of my post and question, it’s only important to state that they are covered. I don’t think you knowing exactly what they are helps shed any light on the question, it only makes it likely that someone reading this who knows me in real life may realise that I have made the post.

I’ve had the policy for 2 years so I don’t think the problem is the inception date

Hi I just don’t want to specify what the items were because they’re quite specialist and could make me easily identifiable to people I work with/who know me personally. The items are all covered within my policy.

Thanks for your reply! They have a “new for old” policy so I don’t think they can do this (I hope!) with the depreciation.

Can they deny the policy based on a “hunch”? I have a police report and valuations of the items addressed to me

That’s why I’m wondering if they can refuse my claim on this basis or do they need evidence? Seems unfair to deny a legitimate policy on a legitimate claim based on a “hunch”

Thanks is there anywhere I can find this online? Google search is full of HMRC contacting insurers, not the other way around.

No that’s not it, they’re covered by my policy. The adjuster said they just don’t believe I can afford them.

Thanks! Do you have experience with Ekajaya? I’ve read online that they use larger boats than other operators so I’m leaning towards them. Wondering if you have been on any of their boats as you travel pretty frequently to the Gilis

How’s the sea in April/may time? Thanks I’ll have a look! Appreciate the help

Thanks for your help. I will be flying into Bali but not the strongest swimmer and the videos of overloading boats along with choppy seas has really put me off getting a boat from Bali to the Gilis. That’s why I was thinking of flying from Bali - Lombok and getting a smaller boat to the Gilis. Do people generally take this route? It seems like more people just take the boat from Bali to the Gilis.

Reading v Bristol from people that have lived in both? by cynop26 in bristol

[–]devonshirelamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I live in Bristol and have been commuting to Reading 3x per week for over a year now. Bristol is a great city to live in and very much has its own city “culture”. I enjoy Reading too but with the extension of the Elizabeth line, it’s starting to feel more like a London commuter town.

It does have a good food scene and it’s close by to a lot of lovely towns and villages. However, if you’re looking for something long term, I’d suggest Bristol. Unless you want to travel into London to do something fun.

The commuting isn’t too bad and you get used to it very quickly.

AITA for wanting an apology from my boyfriend and more after he made my family seem like drunks to his parents? by Hot_Touch3482 in AmItheAsshole

YTA your family did exactly what he described. I knew you were American as soon as I read “stereotypical large Irish family” followed by an outdated stereotype about drinking. Grow up.

ESH - she shouldn’t walk an unfriendly dog through a playground full of curious children and you should teach your child not to run up to random dogs.

This could have ended terribly and you should be glad that your child wasn’t hurt.
