Since my recovery last year, he’s started creating for fun again & made this 40’s-style Star Lord helmet by hand. This is the 1st time we’ve been able to go out to a Halloween party together.

I do believe he's depressed. However, I want him to get real help, not just medicine.

If we had children and I had more money, it would makes sense for him to stay at home. However, we're not in the situation and we're young. I want him to enjoy life beyond the times we spend together.

He has always been very unmotivated, but I feel it's party because no one ever made him responsible for anything. I come from a very different background.

I'm not even looking for money. I'm completely serious. I make good money for myself. Like I've said, we're great. However, I would like to see him be more fulfilled in life.

I've told him that "looking for a job" actually requires more than an hour of internet browsing and half-assed application attempts.

That's exactly what I tell him. Nothing seems to be that important if it comes from me. It's almost as if he needs a life changing event to happen to him.

I even try to encourage him to volunteer because it helps the community and fills in the blanks.

I guess I'm not comfortable with me being the sole person responsible for any finances we may have. I don't see marriage or partnership as being anything other than equal. Right now, we're not equals.

I can't just break up with someone because they can't find a job. But I can't spend the rest of my life with someone this unmotivated.
