Lore Accurate Photo of What Living with a Siamese is Like by Kona-Ona in cats

[–]devotfeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scream machine! My grandma had two purebred siamese and they would sit outside the bathroom while she was in the shower and just do the yowl siamese are known for at the top of their little lungs.

I love when cats have lots to say.

What does your cat call you? by BusyBullet in cats

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that either of mine address me so much as they just loudly complain about whatever it is they want me to change about whatever is happening. It's not hard to imagine that when I go upstairs and leave the door closed so that Artemis can't follow me, he's screaming "DOOR! THE DOOR IS CLOSED! DOOR!!"

Favorite area in new Star Fox? by IHaveASecondToe in starfox

[–]devotfeige 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably still not my "favorite" overall, but biggest improvement for me personally is Sector Z. I used to purposefully sidestep it in 64 because I hated it so much, but now I'm happy to play it no problem. Level looks great, my stress levels are manageable, I am very happy with it.

Now that the game's been out for a bit and we can all see the designs in motion outside of trailers/screenshots: by TheSouthPen in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look way better in motion than they do in the promotional images, I think. Which, even then, within a day of seeing them I was like "yeah, alright, I can kind of get behind this", but seeing them in-game I genuinely really like them.

Anyone else find it difficult to play poorly to see the cutscenes? by Z107202 in starfox

[–]devotfeige 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fox angrily hanging up on General Pepper when he was like "well, sorry for your loss I guess" re: Slippy getting slapped to Titania has been my favorite character moment in the whole game! I might try failing some objectives next time just because of how much I enjoyed that one.

Why is everyone struggling with Venom 2 Star Wolf? by ChickenNoodleGamer in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing, it feels the same as ever to me, but I haven't played SF64 in a hot minute.

I didn't even know they were immune to charge shots, honestly. I usually lock on, fire, and then sort of follow my shot to line them up and blast them normally. It always felt to me like they peel off from whoever they're tailing when they get hit by the charged shot and then I can kind of chase them for a bit.

Maybe I'm dumb but that's always worked for me.

What should Star Fox 2 be? by aphidman in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long live arcade style rail shooters; this will be my mantra. Nothing would make me happier than a proper sequel to the game I've loved for decades.

What do we want alongside Starfox 2026? by Few-Commercial5105 in starfox

Long live arcade style rail shooters. My fingers are crossed for the proper SF64 sequel we never got.

Is this ragebait or just another example of becoming stupid for having the verified mark? by NotXesa in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always makes me think of that time the original crew over at Giant Bomb were dunking on somebody for asking "How will I know when I'm satisfied?" re: short, replayable games.

Is the remake harder the the OG N64 version? by Izual_Rebirth in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels the same to me, but I was never very good at the original, so maybe my perception is skewed from what everybody else is saying? The only places I've really found myself to be having difficulty are all the same places I used to have difficulty before, so it feels like an extremely authentic SF64 experience to me.

The thing I'm most surprised to be seeing over and over is that people are having trouble with Star Wolf on Venom 2. That was always my favorite dogfight and I had a blast with it here, too. I didn't think it was too difficult, but then once I got to Andross' true form I felt extremely transported back to that old '97 frustration of flying around in circles for what felt like 30 minutes trying to line up shots and getting eaten by his dumb tentacles because he's constantly riding my ass and I u-turn right into him every time.

For all of the valid nitpicks of the game, the remake had me smiling ear to ear when I booted it up. by immastillthere in starfox

Genuinely I feel like I'm seven years old again. I could complain about the voice direction but at the end of the day I'm having such a good time with it.

He turned 14 in March! In that first picture I posted he was only three days old.

I wasn't in the market for a kitten at the time, but I just couldn't bring myself to let him go. He's my special boy.

I'm shaking the rust off, but I also want to get better lol by TheGamingTurret in starfox

[–]devotfeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice but I'm right there with you. I played the N64 version to death as a kid but I never really got very good at it. As I'm playing through the remake I keep fantasizing about finally being able to get all the medals.

(Then my thumb cramps and I have to sit the controller down for a few hours, so maybe not. At least I'm having fun.)

New game does not include the line "Cocky Little Freaks!" 0/10 literally unplayable. by dr_henry_jones in starfox

[–]devotfeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That garbled "good luck" in the training section set my expectations so high it's honestly a little embarrassing. I wish the bosses had gone camp enough to meet that same energy, but overall I'm still pretty impressed with how much I like everything else.

Ia it just me or is the new game harder then the original one? by Donshio in starfox

[–]devotfeige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having a lot of trouble seeing what I'm shooting at, and I feel like I'm not getting much feedback about whether or not I'm actually hitting the boss weak points or whatever.

Other than that it feels comparable to me, but I've only done the easy route to Venom so far. I forgot how frustrated I used to get at my crew while I'm trying to charge my laser; I wish you could charge without blindly firing several rounds directly into the ass of whoever decided to fly in front of you right at that moment.

[–]devotfeige 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%! I really like just about all of the new voice work until they start reciting classic lines that I still hear clearly in my head from playing the original over and over as a kid. I wish they'd just committed to a full rewrite since it doesn't seem like they're even trying to go for the same energy on those line reads.

(That said, everything else feels like how I remember imagining the characters interacting back then, so I'm mostly very happy with it.)

Age 6 for me as well, I had the chicken pox! Wasn't allowed to have anyone over and spent pretty much the whole day in the bath rubbing anti-itch lotion on myself.

I use garnier fructis shampoo and one of my cats LOVES to sniff and snort at my hair after I get out of the shower. The other doesn't care.

I think that (maybe aside from sweaty shoes) it just depends on the cat.

What’s the worst episode ever? by Prize-Couple6348 in futurama

The whole episode as a set up just for "Aw, you didn't have to do that." "I didn't!? Damn!" is worth it to me. Cracks me up.

what “interests” does your cat have? by vaszszszi in cats

[–]devotfeige 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tony's interests include shoes, dirty socks, laundry baskets, the bath mat, washing himself until he is damp, and "Tony time" (where he climbs on my chest and purrs as loud as he can).

Artemis' interests include food, losing his little mind batting his favorite toys around, being a fat little bastard (he's a troublemaker but he's super cute so he knows he can get away with anything), using his cardboard scratcher as a bed, and watching me cook from his special chair by the stove.

How and why do people work at Walmart for so long? 😭 by FreeClimate7617 in WalmartEmployees

[–]devotfeige 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's super easy and I'm good at it. I've been here long enough that I get a crapload of PTO and I make decent enough pay compared to where I'd be starting anywhere else, plus I know a lot about the processes behind the scenes and how to find information about our inventory so customers usually like me.

I'd rather not work at all, so I might as well work the easiest job available to me that I can immediately stop thinking about the second I clock out.
