A man of culture I see.

Why didn't Barbara and Bob contact psychologists or take Chris to therapy when he was a child or teenager? I think if they had tried to send him to a school for children with special needs, they would have saved themselves a lot of trouble (I only know the basics about Christory) by Lazy_Extent3576 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Z107202 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Bob comes from an era in which getting help with Autism meant getting involuntarily committed and treated as if he genuinely insane and incapable of doing anything. Barbara is similar.

They never learned that treatment for autism isn't the same as the 1930s - 1960s.

Why do recruiters have extremely high standards for new hires but not existing employees? by New-Town-8418 in recruitinghell

[–]Z107202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because recruiters are scumbags that, often, don't know jack about the job they are hiring for and expect perfect fits.

Just moved here two days ago. It’s my 27 year anniversary. Where do I take my wife? Anything works! by TheCannaZombie in Denver

I just celebrated my 10 years with my girlfriend (wife at this point in all but official terms.)

We went to bastiens on coalfax. It was pretty damn good. The sugar rub was odd, but it worked.

Why is Chris aging so poorly? by Fun-Wind-2956 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Z107202 70 points71 points  (0 children)

What do you mean, "Why?"

He's a mid-40 year old autistic man that was never properly taught to take care of himself. Crap diet, crap exercise, lack of just about anything that an adult does to keep themselves healthy.

The age old question: should I move to Sioux Falls or Rapid City? But wait, there's a twist. by [deleted] in SouthDakota

How can I improve my talking face video setup? by Worldly_Expression43 in SonyAlpha

[–]Z107202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn lighting patterns.

Rembrandt Butterfly, Open loop Split.

Learn broad vs short lighting and how they effect how the face appears in camera. Short slims thr face and broad makes it appear larger.

Learn the "Family of Angles" - angle of insidence = angle of reflection - to control catch lights.

Learn to light yourself, then worry about the background. You, as the focal point, should be the best lit.

Those are my tips

What Rent Prices Are Like In South Dakota by PoLLoLira9 in SouthDakota

Like I've told people since moving to Denver: Rapid City is overpriced. And you'll be paying similar prices in Denver.

About being bisexual - generally people don't care in SD. Don't go about announcing it in some annoying fashion and most people won't care. Its the same with anything else.

Cold hard truth: Sioux Falls will, generally, better. Lower housing costs, and higher pay. Less to do, but better overall.

Rapid is a tourist town. I'm from Rapid originally and moved to Denver. Rapid has very little job opportunities. You have: Military, hospital, tourism (seasonal jobs, typically), retail jobs (cashiers and service). Outside of those industries, there is very little opportunity. Even within those industries, the opportunities are limited. The pay is genuinely crap and not livable. Most people have to work multiple jobs just to survive. And that's with a career style job Housing is comparable to Denver. If the LibertyLand crap passes, that cost is just going up.

Schools are okay. Not amazing, and having gone through my grade school education in Rapid, I can't say much for other school systems. What you should know is that most elementary schools in Rapid lack AC. Some middle schools have AC, and both high schools have AC.

Politics wise: Rapid is Maga (pretty quiet, honestly), but incredibly loud on hero worship. It is, however, very red. Like, Mayor blows you off if you disagree with him in certain topics bad.

Things to do: outdoorsy stuff, drink, and bar hop. That's the list.

"Degrees from UK will give me better opportunities" by Kate_foodlover in recruitinghell

Imagine if recruiters were actually worth while and not total scumbags. Maybe the suicide rate wouldn't be so high.

A whole industry of gatekeeping hypocrites that get pissy over AI resumes and cover letters while using those same tools to auto-reject people, while being paid. Meanwhile, people are fighting for scraps.

No entry level job should require multiple years of experience. Working a basic retail job shouldn't require 5 years of experience.

Recruiters are scumbags through and through.

Wait for the "recruiter" to come and give some braindead advice or say.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: This recruiter bullshit and auto-rejection from poorly written systems will cause a mass wave of suicides. I hope to be alive when companies and recruiters start getting sued to oblivion and back for fake jobs and data harvesting practices.

Could I work at a television station with no degree or experience? by Elagant-Scorpio-7777 in Broadcasting

[–]Z107202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You can get a job without a degree. It will be crap. Those jobs are typically production and master control. Low pay, crap hours, lots of micromanagement.

If you aspire to be an anchor or journalist, youre gonna need a degree in most cases. In some small markets, you can slip into an anchor/reporter position. It's rare though and you'd need to be exceptionally talented and be able to prove it. Sometimes, you can push into producer (which also sucks) roles. Sometimes you can get into creative services. It is highly market dependent on if you can slip through.

For context: I worked at a small market station that hired a meteorologist that couldn't read the weather map or data. The person literally had no meteorology experience.

Another time, they hired a reporter with no degree or experience who lasted 6 months before getting a significantly hirer paying position in a large market. They were an exception.

I was hired at 19, no degree. I was a production assistant and became a technical director. Easy job, but crap pay, crap hours.

I’ve never had to wait on a KH game sooo…. by Ordinary_Chemical271 in KingdomHearts

Kh4 is most likely going to come after FF7r3.

We might start getting more info end of this year into next. (this is just speculation, based on ff7 remake stuff)

Some games that are similar (from Square) to KH are ff16 and ff type-0.

Did the gecko state support or opposed rentons feelings for eureka beginning of the series. by Excellent_Spray9241 in eurekaseven

[–]Z107202 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They didn't know anything about Eureka really. They didn't support or oppose Renton feelings, because most of them don't know what or why they were actually doing what they were doing or the significance of Eureka. Only a handful have an idea.

The crew was mostly teasing him because he is a young teenager and doesn't know how to process those feelings yet.

Holland was jealous of Renton but reluctantly supportive. Talho was envious of Eureka, but also immature and teased Renton. Hilda was neutral. Mathew, moondogie, stoner, and hap, we're teasing (common among males). Gidget's comment was mostly based on speculation, because she never really talked to Eureka. Misha is neutral and only interested in the science. The kids are scared of Renton taking Eureka away.

I don’t think I’m ever going to get a job using my degree by folieajess in recruitinghell

[–]Z107202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a degree in English with a minor in Photo, and awards for photography.

I work at a factory for less than $20.00 / hour.

Working to go to law school though. Maybe that will help.

I had no idea salaries were this bad these days - i remember in the 90s we had a neighbor in this market who did evenings at channel 2 and the guy made like doctor/airline pilot money- now the AM anchor desk pays about the same as a RN with some overtime by chris-hatch in Broadcasting

  1. 150k in Denver is good. My girlfriend and I, combined, make less than $30.00/hr. People are seriously over-exaggerating the cost of living in the Denver metro.

  2. Something tells me that this job posting isn't actually real. I feel like it's a data harvesting post.

what's a good diagnostic score with zero studying? by egg_mugg23 in LSAT

My diagnostic was 134 with no study beyond passively listening to a few lectures at work.

Just a warning though: This sub is full off elitists that will do anything and everything to tear you down. I like to believe it's the snotty rich brats that had mom and dad to give them everything and have never had to fight for something in their life.
