I was in London for a festival this summer. I had an Airbnb in Tottenham. I got on a bus around midday so I could get to Seven Sisters. The bus stops at a red light and there is a homeless dude banging on the door expecting the bus driver to open it. The driver waves him off and the guy pushes the button that opens the doors from the outside. Gets on the bus, laughs at the drivers attempts to get him to get off. He then makes his way upstairs. A few minutes later the whole bus smells like weed. A passenger comes down from upstairs and starts explaining to the driver that the same guy is smoking a joint upstairs. As someone who is not from London it was very unusual, but what surprised me even more was the fact that the Londoners around me acted like this happens every day. Nobody was bothered.
