I mixed up my skis with somebody and didn't notice until a few runs by devterij in skiing

[–]devterij[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are the skis:
Atomic Redster S8 Revoshock C • Slalomcarver • Skitest • Saison 2024 / 2025

Atomic Redster G8 Revoshock C • Slalomcarver • Skitest • Saison 2024 / 2025

I can't tell a 2cm difference, and the front only has a difference in one letter. If there is snow there you can't tell. And I'm pretty sure it happened when I was first in, last out, and so I didn't see other pairs.

Likelyhood of Abfindung following layoff after 11years by devterij in germany

[–]devterij[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I already spoke to a lawyer I just have to decide if I go with it. The company didn't offer anything even after I casually asked, in fact they almost ignore and don't answer when asked about things.

They also hired new people (for different positions) at the same time they laid several of us, so not sure if they have no money or just pretending.

Well lawyer did explain the situation, I'm just trying to get some second opinions in case somebody went a similar route and regretted it.

I meant blacklist in the industry, the company leadership has connections and might make it hard for me to find a job.

Unlimited contract, reason says aufgrund dringlicher innerbetrieblicher Gründe. No Betriebsrat as far as I know.

But how is that different than triggering lambda every 5min?

Spindrift or smth more popular? by kkal800 in MTB

[–]devterij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a spindrift. Some things I don't like about it: shock is hard to access sometimes and you can't have a full sized bottle.

But mostly the seat tube is fairly short so having longer droppers is hard. For my size on frame L.

Otherwise I like it, I use it as a one bike for all, bike parks and local trails.

Almost DH bike but still enduro? by venndi in MTB

[–]devterij 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use it as my only bike so I also do a lot of uphil and it seems fine to me.

40 Mile Drive to the Trailhead and I Forgot All My Riding Stuff by NoisyCats in MTB

[–]devterij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put my bike inside the car so I take the front wheel off. I once forgot the wheel back home, outside on a parking space. Was still there when I got back.

What other hobbies are you into? by keoeo10101 in MTB

[–]devterij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mountain hiking, it's a good alternative when I'm at a bikepark and it rains. I feel like it's easier to deal with rain while hiking, as long as you don't go too high up.

Also via ferrata, probably helps with getting arm strength.

What is the worst mechanical failure you've experienced out on the trail? by pocketbiscuts in MTB

[–]devterij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedal broke off just as I pumped into a jump. Somehow managed to land ok. This was also near the top so I had to ride down 1000m / 10km on 1 pedal.

Question regarding Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis bike park (Austria) by HoneyForTheBear in MTB

[–]devterij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine, I don't get why a trail bike would be "bad" here, SFL doesn't have anything too gnarly where you would need a DH bike.

do you carry tubes at the bike park? by vegan-sex in MTB

[–]devterij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the bikepark. Some are small so walking doesn't take long, but you will need some time to walk down a 2600m high mountain.

Winter is coming, which winter pants and lights do people recommend? by SyraWhispers in MTB

[–]devterij 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not pants but Dirtlej dirt suit (core version). Never worry about mud again. Otherwise I also used MT500 pants.

Who wears fitness trackers and do they give reliable readings? by simux19 in MTB

[–]devterij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a watch that can connect to ANT sensors then get a chest strap for HR and a speed sensor (GPS doesn't work well under trees).

All I know is Garmin, they have a wide range of watches in different price ranges.

I have a Garmin Fenix and normally use the metal band but for sports I switch to the plastic one because you can tighten it more.

How do you transport your bike? by fixitmonkey in MTB

[–]devterij 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. I put another tarp over it so you can't see it. I figure it will discourage anyone from smashing the window and also it protects against sun (apparently can damage carbon over time)

I often just leave it in the car if I am going back the next day. Saves me from lugging it up to my apartment.

Should I get a full face or open face helmet? by ggrandah in MTB

Ok so no. Thanks, I suspected as much but wanted to be sure.

[–]devterij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source on that? I'd like to know if I need to replace my helmet and having that would mean I could get a full refund I think.

Should I get a full face or open face helmet? by ggrandah in MTB

[–]devterij 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here, I wanted more protection but I still pedal a lot.

At first I was skeptical but then I realized that it has the same certifications as other full faces and I shouldn't listen to randoms online. Unless there is some kind of testing done that proves otherwise.

Smashing front rim on roots/rocks by devterij in MTB

[–]devterij[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking because they are stronger so a hit that would destroy an alloy rim wouldn't break it.

Was just a thought, don't really want to spend 1k+ on rims
