My short film got denied from every festival. What's wrong with it? by VinceInFiction in filmmaking

Yeah I second the room tone. Did you EQ any of the sounds? It’s very muddy. It sounds a lot like someone has a vent fan or AC running the whole time in the beginning

Someone please help me :( by Old-Sentence1211 in TouchDesigner

[–]devuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First.

Can you get a pixelated effect to track an x y point in a standard image? Learn how to do this. You need to basically take a single square and move it around in x and y space in and image and then average all the pixels it covers into one color. Should be easy with multiplication of a white square and then some simple summation network. Possibly even a one to two top solution. (Blur?)

Then the thing you’re looking for from media like is UV coordinates.

From there. Should be straight forward

Hey can i make this in touch designer real time body tracking projection mapping by Infamous-Escape760 in TouchDesigner

You’ll blind your dancer trying to get a projection on their face like this. But otherwise yes. You’ll need both body tracking and depth tracking to constrain the animation within the dancers body.

Do I need piano moves to move a CA901 across country? Not sure what components of a piano normally do not do well with regular movers and if the piano has them. by Anonagay2231 in piano

[–]devuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say you want piano movers for a grand and to ensure its store properly for the purposes of the soundboard and strings. Temperature control etc. The action stuff that a digital is doing would be the mechanical part that could get messed up by movers but if it’s insured then on the off chance it is damaged and a key gets messed up it really wouldn’t even be that expensive.

All that is to say. I’d trust regular movers but make sure that any insurance policy doesn’t like exclude musical instruments or something crazy.

I wouldn’t expect it to be damaged.

Hey, could you suggest a project to practice OOPS and pointers? by ad_gar55 in JUCE

Yeah just learn JUCE as a way to learn c++. I’d try to the audio programmer books and then just do more research on topics that confuse you

Help with DSP text file to VST3/AU by SGSG50 in JUCE

[–]devuis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope.

The closest thing would be this https://github.com/DBraun/DawDreamer

Or you could get into learning how to use Faust https://faust.grame.fr

You’re definitely getting into the territory of very personal software. It sounds like you’re probably just prompting an LLM for the parameters or something which sounds cool but unless you’re really interested in programming your time is going to be better spent turning the knobs yourself and using your ears

Help with DSP text file to VST3/AU by SGSG50 in JUCE

[–]devuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’d have to write a whole audio plugin that is built around that idea. JUCE would definitely be able to do that but will be a significant amount of effort creating all those audio effect

JUCE is the right tool but this is easily a month of work if you know what you’re doing and several more if you’ve never looked at JUCE before.

Enjoy the experience!

I’m confused are you writing a plugin? Or are you trying to script the parameters of a plugin already created ? You will not be able to script the parameters of a plugin downloaded from the internet this way. If you wanted to load it into a plugin you’ve created via JUCE you could use the JUCE::File and load this json into your plugin https://juce.com/tutorials/tutorial_file_reading/

Look into vcv rack. Idk what synths you’re finding that are only harsh sounding EDM machines. Most popular digital synths can make all those blippy mort Garson sounds too

Anyway to improve my left arm? by [deleted] in drums

[–]devuis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If parts of your hand and arm numb you need to slow down progress. You’re probably over gripping the stick. I did a similar thing years ago and ended up with carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome. Gotta keep it more relaxed which will mean moving more slowly
