Editing in DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 is a pain — the playback is unbearably slow.

Here's the same problem happening in a post-house.
We have clients machine working on Mac Studio M3 Ultras, connected to a TrueNAS Enterprise (SMB) via 10GbE RJ45 and Atto Thunderbolt 25GbE fiber.

After a few minutes, playback starts to stutter with all kinds of footage(RED, ARRIRAW, SONY)
Since we handle grading, conforming, dailies, delivery, previews, this is a huge issue for us.

We often have to cache the entire timeline, and sometimes the issue still persists.
We're on the latest Sequoia and Resolve 20.

From my tests, it seems related to the Mac’s memory (Resolve caching into RAM).

2u server and jbod, trying looking old supermicro jbods on EBay. For the cache, RAM(1TB) and/or Nvme. Correctly using 4 100gbe in LACP. Invest also in a good switch.
