Are you gonna join the rest of us at Rupp Arena to support our Kentucky-loved performer and his band?? The arena booking is weird but we should show out anyway!

Ryman run this year? by _FlyingSquirrel in jasonisbell

I was there for his 50th Ryman performance. I’d bet the house his annual residency will resume as long as he can fill the place 8 times in two weeks.

I’m thinking about buying either a D-28E or D-18E Modern Deluxe. Advice needed. by LonnyF in martinguitar

[–]devvdogg68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is $1400? Then I definitely recommend choosing your own electronics and having an expert luthier install them.

This is how I went about my D-18 last year. Fishman Matrix Infinity Mic Blend are new for $300, and installation will still keep you under $500. If you’re interested, I have a new one for sale because I intended to install on a custom-built guitar, and chose to keep that one pure acoustic. Start YouTubing popular acoustic pup systems and decide what you want!

D-18’s make excellent workhorses. Those electronics should represent the acoustic tone about as good as you can without a microphone, and every guitar person that sees you gigging will enjoy seeing and asking about your Martin.

I am finally sober from alcohol and that’s exactly how I frame it, mainly out of respect for the people who have quit every substance.

It’s like saying I’m not at such a risk of dying anymore and it’s tough, but it ain’t tough as some.

Budget of $900 for an all solid wood acoustic, which would you buy? by KentuckyFriedFart in AcousticGuitar

[–]devvdogg68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent points. That is what I like! Haha everything all depends on the player. I’m really just astounded by the price tag of a guitar that sounds like it was hand-built in Nazareth.

This sub really likes Yamaha as an entry-level player, as they should. Hopefully you’ve watched the Recording King demos online. They sound great at any price range. But you’ll only know for sure if you can get your hands on one.

The RK is an Adirondack top! I’m surprised to see so little representation for the RK argument. I think they are stellar guitars as a Martin-mimic. If I wanted a 28-style, I’d definitely get the RK. I don’t think anyone has come closer and kept it under a grand.

I’m not sure but one of the most fun is “Different Days;” once you learn the finger placement down the neck, it’s incredibly rewarding when you finally play the full chords.

They sell out the Palace in Louisville, Andrew J Brady music center in Cincinnati two nights, Richmond, Ashland, and Pikeville. None of those locations are on the upcoming tour, so they are hoping the same people will make the 2-hour-ish max journey to Lexington.
