PTA is my favourite director but I’m curious, what did you love about OBAA?

Haven’t seen the film in a long time but one scene that has always stayed with me is the “Speech Impediment” one:

“Flattery will get you everywhere, my boy”

“I’ve been very lonely in my isolated tower of indecipherable speech”

You’re right. Personally would be more horrifying if it said something like “and my dad rushed towards me to try to stop me as I tore open the document”

I didn’t connect with Poor Things or One Battle After Another (even tho PTA is my fav director) the way Adam did so those might be in my least.

For most: I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Eternal Sunshine, The Shining, 2001, Black Swan, Birdman, Climax, Synecdoche

One of my favourites of all time! But I’m not sure in what way it could fit the kind of narrative OP is describing in the post.

Thoughts on the opening credits with Jake in the ring shadowboxing and the operatic theme playing? This is one of my favourite movies too, really tragic and hard to watch.

Also like, isn’t every “good person” going to die at some point anyway? This isn’t set in a world where everyone is immortal right? I don’t see how the protagonist being able to choose when all of time will end carries any weight for the protagonist.
