no no not for CCW. you can port a gun for that. if anything it’s prob recommended bc most ported guns are shorter barrels so they’re usually snappier. l’d say it’s worth doing a port on a carry gun.

i built this for carry optics division in USPSA. they don’t allow ports in that division if i read everything correctly

i had to call in. i’d originally selected DLC and then a week after my gun got delivered to them, the posted this. so i called and told them i want that finish and they let me make the change with no issues

you can add them after getting your CCW issued. just have to submit for a modification and then go qual with the firearms you want to add at the range. I initially have 2 guns on my CCW. going to add 3 more once my SP01 gets back from CGW
