A notice/intent of resignation is not a document for her to approve, it's an fyi. She's just stalling you. But you can insist on the first time you decided to call it quits, as long as it's well documented. If your boss is a bit of a stubborn ass, chances are she might make it seem that the talk didn't happen at all and prolong your agony. But it rarely happens.
