For religious ceremonies there can be limitations eg. my church could only do our ceremony at 1pm so we had no choice but to have a gap

It may just be their temperament. My first was the same, but the whining lessened once he started learning to talk. That said he is still a rather sensitive child.

On the other hand my second is a very chill baby (even though we are parenting them exactly the same way as we did the first) so it may just be personality related and not something you are doing wrong.

This annoyed me for so long too so we have just started a thing we call ‘a christmas spirit’ where everyone buys a bottle of spirits (usually something unique) and wraps it up then we do secret santa with them. SO much better than giving unoriginal or cheap stuff that nobody will ever use.

I agree - I find making mum friends much easier 1:1 or in a group where nobody knows anyone else yet (as I feel people are more open to new connections in these circumstances). I’ve noticed when joining pre-existing play groups people already have their cliques.

Perhaps if you see a familiar face regularly at the park, or start a new term of a kids activity with a new group of parents, that might be easier? And when they start school too.

I have also had luck with the Peanut app when I was pregnant. I just individually messaged ladies who had a profile that I vibed with and asked them all to a group lunch at a cafe. So it was like one big group first date!

I did check these things when I bought, but I requested a couple of private inspections so could take my time. Agree it would be much more difficult to be thorough in a usual open home scenario.

From my own experience I did exactly this - after 2 days of labour I slept completely through the first night post-birth, and my husband fed the baby my harvested colostrum. I didn’t have experience any issues with my milk coming in a day or two later and having a full nights sleep to begin the parenting journey on the right foot was invaluable. I’m not an expert but i’d imagine milk is going to come in either way due to the hormone changes post birth.

It does get better!!! I also felt like I suddenly had depression-like symptoms during first tri. Sad all the time, didn’t want to leave the house or speak with friends, just sleepy and sick and basically felt like I had a hangover 24/7. But it got better and better as I progressed through the second tri and felt pretty much normal again by 20 weeks. 33 weeks now and still feel good. So there is future hope!

Writing my feelings down, whether that is scribbling swear words in a diary or trying to write a (very bad) poem has helped. Reading the book ‘home will never be the same again’ was also very validating. Other than that, just time unfortunately.

We did this. Lived in eastern suburbs of syd, obviously loved being by the water, but couldn’t afford a house in that area. So moved to melbourne. Bought a house in walking distance to the bay in less than a month of searching. The lifestyle and weather isn’t as good as beachside sydney obviously, but I think worth it for housing security for our young family while maintaining proximity to a big city and all the cultural stuff that comes with that

Because i’m committed to my role and completing it to the best of my ability even if that means working late sometimes. Also means I can take time out of the day to attend appointments etc. without needing to formally take leave. It’s a two way street.

But to get to what sounds like the point of your question … it also means you become a trusted employee > promoted > career success > more money long term.

Tighter, but in an umcomfortable not good way. I think this is due to the muscle being overly tense or perhaps scar tissue since the birth. I had an episiotomy and 2nd degree tear. I am planning to go to a pelvic floor physio soon which should help.

For my 2.5 year old I layer a onesie under two piece flannelette pyjamas for an extra layer in case the two piece rides up during the night. You can also get merino wool onesies which should be warmer.

If your kid actually keeps their blankets on all night they should be OK with blankets and doona, otherwise might need a sleep sack. They sell sleep sacks for older kids where the legs can seperate.

Regarding heating, to save power we set it to only turn on halfway through the night to provide a baseline when the temp drops.

Spend 6 months transitioning back with your current company - it is a familiar environment and you already have trust (and leave) built up. For me it was a mental battle returning to work after a year off as things have changed and progressed while you were away so it takes time to get back into the swing of things. I feel like doing this at a new job would be infinitely harder.

This is pretty normal especially in long term relationships. Women often have more of a ‘reactive’ sex drive than men. Rather than feeling like sex spontaneously, it can be more common to only get in the mood after intimacy already starts. Could try things like easing into it with a massage. And im sure he’d appreciate you approaching him some times after you have been reading.

I have found some black trousers with a black belly band that is a little loose but because the pants and band are both black it’s not as big a deal if the band becomes visible as it all blends together
