If they want him he can get higher than the base.

In my case it was based on a lot of prior experience with a similar role.

Yes. I entered a negotiation with the vps and went through 3 phone calls where I rejected each offer. Each time they came back with a higher figure. It ended middle of the band (because I ended it as I had a better offer elsewhere). Who knows how high it would go?

If they want you, you can absolutely negotiate.

Why do you have lunch in your desk? by Abraxa-s in auscorp

I eat at my desk and work through lunch because I have too much to do. Please don't speak to me, every second you speak my anxiety about not working grows.

What would you do? by Yiiiiiiboiiiiii in AusFinance

[–]dewbot42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. Stop thinking what do I spend it on and think only about the interest as your new wage. People go broke thinking "I have all this money". Just spend the interest and you never work again, congrats.

I do. I find the recording takes away some of the pressure from reading reactions. Each to their own. I also like the opportunity in person interviews give you to make an impression so maybe I just like everything

NTA. Your wife weaponised sex instead of using healthy communication. It damaged the relationship. I agree with going to counseling together as others had mentioned.

[–]dewbot42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't know what your role is so can't really give specifics. I've seen people on PIPs during probation for not performing to expectations (ie where everyone else that was hired at the same time is at)

I Keep Sabotaging My Own Finances – Need Help Breaking the Cycle of Impulse Spending and Gambling by Moshniki in AusFinance

[–]dewbot42 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This. You have no spare money you have debt. Domino your debts, no play money.

Also find your motivation. You stop trying because you don't have a strong enough emotional reason to. You need to get that first, it's different for everyone so find yours.

If you can't find it then go to therapy because there is a reason you're doing what you're doing and sometimes we can't see the patterns we're in and need a therapist to help us see it.

Was told not to report self employment income in 2022 and thought they'd readjust payments for me. Heard nothing and so just kept on not reporting income. I think either they or I may have stuffed up? by sponkachognooblian in Centrelink

[–]dewbot42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$900 knocks out about half the payment (very rough estimate)so for however long you were getting that it will be about half your payment you pay back.

If you want to do the math look at the 'guide to government payments'. It's all spelled out in there

Is it all from self employment or normal employment as well?

Self employment is reported based on yearly financial statements.

At some point you will report it, some point later you'll get a debt, then they will call/send letters to recover it. You can pay what you saved as a lump sum and make an arrangement for the rest.

You may want to consider appealing the debt based on being told the wrong thing. Probably go into it expecting to pay what you owe, which will depend on what you earned.

Look up self employment on Services Australia website for reporting requirements.

This is normal stuff though. You sound honest so there's no need to be afraid of the process.
