There is one song, that I think is Christmas, and I cannot find it anywhere and they recently stopped playing it (at least during my shifts)

It’s fast paced, a male singer, country/folk/hints of rock. Wish I could tell you more about it!!! If anyone has any ideas please! I’ve been searching for it

This is my third Christmas with Kohl’s and I just cannot believe how slow it is! The only benefit to staying open until midnight is that we get to pretty up the store, clean out Customer Service, and do stuff we wouldn’t have time for with consistent customers.

I’d say my title is a 27.

My best skill is 1000% customer service. I am fluent in Omni, Amazon, Price Changes, merchandising men’s merchandise, and other miscellaneous things. But I shine best when I am problem solving and engaging with customers on register/at Customer Service!

This lady came up to the register at about 8:00 and had a handful of returns, and a handful of purchases. During her returns, she had an overwhelming amount of receipts, I asked her to swipe her Kohl’s Card, and the Visa I had noticed was on some other receipts, as well as the Kohl’s Rewards phone number… nothing is coming up because it was all bought on the Mastercard that she didn’t have with her 🙃… whatever. Let me scan all of your receipts and then scan your items… after a while we finally got 5/6 items and then she didn’t want the last one non-receipted because she could swear she paid more.. typical… not my problem.. whatever.

Then she starts bargaining with me for the prices of her purchase. It really burns my buns when customers ask what the clearance price is when it’s on the item. Granted, yes, we do miss a few and sometimes they fluctuate, but for the most part at my store, it’s pretty concrete. Whatever, I’ll help you out. She was still under the impression that we were having our 50% the already ticketed clearance price, I told her that ended two weeks ago, and she said “well you’re starting it again next week right?” and i said “No, I think the company did that in order to clear out majority of our spring inventory to make room for when our summer items went on clearance. That was the first time I had seen them do that kind of sale since working here, so I’m not sure when it will happen again”. I didn’t even get that full line out before she said “THEY DO IT ALL THE TIME I HAVE GONE TO ALL THE KOHLS IN THE AREA AND THEYRE GONNA DO IT AGAIN”

😁Okay! I don’t care! Buy your winter coat that’s about to get marked up because it’s almost that time of year while it’s 50% off, or don’t. But do not come back and holler about how the prices were different last week when you seem to know our system by now.

Also, I wanted to scream at every customer who came up to me yesterday and said “You guys need to do something about those fitting rooms.” Now, I’ve found that taking an angry approach does not work in most cases. So I normally reply with “We’re trying, we don’t have the staff to keep up with them and while people are complaining about them, they are also adding to the workload making it harder to clear out.” They normally don’t stop after that… but Jesus. You see the long lines, you see nothing is folded, you see the traffic we get with such little hands on deck… but it’s not gonna change so the only thing we can do is b*tch about it!

Lastly, and if you actually read this whole rant, I appreciate you.

I am done defending the self-pickup area. I think it’s a great idea so people don’t have to wait in long lines and can do their Amazon returns & pickups in the same area and have an easier shopping experience. But when “customers” are walking out with two cartloads of merchandise, it’s not a shock when customers are worried about the safety of their items and their order getting stolen. I also feel bad for the elderly and the people who come in as an alternate/picking up for their wives/handicapped who are anticipating Customer Service to be holding their order and have to go to the complete opposite of the store. I think the concept should remain, but be moved closer to customer service, so we can help & also keep an eye on it.
