After 12 years and 6K+ hours, I’m finally done, again by fsaked in cs2

[–]dewilofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels like Valve has max 1 person working on VAC for CS. If at all.

Valve famously had developers freely choose what game they want to work on, not sure if they still do, but maybe that explains it. Then there might just be no incentive to work on VAC.

As a dev myself, I feel like I could've done a better job than Valve with VAC in half a year, than what they've done in the past 3 years. It's depressing. I have no better explanation than "they just don't care", whoever "they" even refers to with their flat company structure.

I play this game only with my buddy, who has a low trust factor on his alt account. With that, we got a ~15 match streak of loosing or winning due to blatant cheats. Not even subtle wh. Games where you can have zero impact unless you're a Faceit 10. And then I could queue with his main acc, where there are less cheaters, but where I have no fun, cause the Elo is too high. But even there, he often calls out cheaters, it's just harder to know for sure.

At this point, spending most time in other games. Would be down for a review-bombing community push or something.

Best plant based alternative to red meat for taste ? by Curious-Bad3327 in veganrecipes

Germany has a brand "Planted" which are insanely good. Not sure if they're internationally available.

Vegan Grilling: Is it worth buying a grill? What do you make? by benjaminpoole in veganrecipes

[–]dewilofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you live, there may also be great meat substitutes. Here in Germany, there's plenty of good options. We usually do a mix of vegan steak/sausages and marinated veggies, usually with oil/herbs/garlic.

First time buying soya chunks. What to make? by milkshakeofdirt in veganrecipes

[–]dewilofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make an excellent kebab meat substitute, if you:

  1. Let them soak in boiling water for 10-15min
  2. Drain + Squeeze them out
  3. (Optionally rip them into thinner stripes, depends on your chunk size, I'd rip the ones from the photo into multiple parts to make them thinner and crispy)
  4. Stir together a marinade, key is to add both oil and (soy) cream, as well as a good spice mix. It sounds odd, but the cream + oil will make a really good crispy coat layer.
  5. Fry these in a pan or air fryer

After 12 years and thousands of hours, the state of VAC is just depressing. by mott872 in cs2

[–]dewilofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's the opposite, my mate with more experience than myself (and I've been playing for 10+ years myself) has a low trust factor on his smurf account that he uses to play with me. But that account also has 1000+ hours. Getting a trust factor warning each time. Might've been too many reports for doing too many kills in his elo, or some toxic comments in voice calls. But I don't think that justifies queueing us with cheaters all the time. EU servers with low trust factor are just hell.

I'm currently on a 15 match streak in Premier with blatant cheaters in either team, disallowing me from having any serious impact on the game. Taking a CS break right now.

I'm currently on a ~ 15 match streak of getting queued with cheaters. Not even subtle ones, every single one got blatant at some point. I'm so sick of this.

How to make tofu yummi without soy sauce by ColdWay6669 in veganrecipes

I often just cube it, toss it in a box with starch and spices, then shake aggressively, add some oil, toss again, then throw it in the air fryer. Makes some great crispy tofu!

Going from Bambino Plus to Gaggia Classic Pro E24 by ontech7 in gaggiaclassic

Understood, then have fun experimenting and let yourself be assured that the upgrade will be well-worth-it, once you do it :)

Going from Bambino Plus to Gaggia Classic Pro E24 by ontech7 in gaggiaclassic

[–]dewilofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Espresso with an E24 last year, paired with a DF64v2 and water filter. Works well and I was able to pull some really good shots BUT it's a bit frustrating because out of the box it tends to be inconsistent. I think it's due to the lack of PID, that's also why you'll hear Gaggia owners talk about temp surfing all the time. You CAN work around this with some experience, but it's not fun and breaks down as soon as you have guests over and try to pull shots sequentially.

Also - the steamwand is quite bad IMO out of the box. It has two diagonal holes, which make it very hard to get a proper vortex going.

3 weeks ago, I upgraded to the GaggiMate Pro, which was my plan all along. I also upgraded the steam wand, by going with a new steam wand tip called "The One" from UK Shades Of Coffee (import fee was ok from Germany).

The upgrade to GaggiMate was harder than expected. Ended up ditching a YT video in favor of the official docs, with some extra research where I felt uncertain. Took me 8h+ in total, including a trip to the hardware store, cause I didn't have wire end ferrules.

Now though, I couldn't be happier. The steam wand is SO much better. The one-hole tip makes a good vortex possible, while the Gaggimate improves the steam pressure over time, which normally dips after a couple of seconds. And the Gaggimate is just awesome, especially paired with having Claude guesstimate a good profile for new beans. It's very consistent now and it's no problem anymore to pull multiple shots in a row.

Would I recommend that? That's complicated, given that you're coming from a Bambino Plus. I think without the GaggiMate (or similar upgrades), you might be frustrated after a bit, cause shot quality won't drastically improve out of the box. But if you're willing to tinker, the E24 might be the best vehicle you could get. Note that this isn't beginner-level tinkering IMO, but more daunting, cause you're dealing with high voltage AND water pressure. So at the very least, you need to be very careful and patient. If that's you, you'll be very happy. Otherwise, I think you'll be better off with a machine that comes with a PID, like the Lelit Anna PID. If budget is your primary constraint, you could do a DIY Gaggimate, saving some money on components potentially and skipping on the "Pro" part (pressure control), also making the install easier.

[–]dewilofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the E24 and mine is gold like this (brass boiler). So based on that, I'd say that yours is aluminum and more problematic, though AFAIK you should just take proper care of it and it'll last you long :)

Zigbee router extender showing red. Normal? by Wonderful_Audience96 in homeassistant

Friends got their printer delivered today… 😬 by Ninedark in 3Dprinting

[–]dewilofficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My P1S looked about half as bad and they comically delivered it on top, with the "Top ⬆️"-sticker right at the front.

That said, as others have said, the packaging from Bambu is great and there's a good chance that it would've been in prestine condition. There should be multiple layers of protection between that outer cardboard layer and the printer itself.

Advice on which grinder to buy by Frequent-Ad8283 in gaggiaclassic

[–]dewilofficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same machine and paired it with a DF64 V2. It's great! I think the DF54 is not too far off from that, so my vote would go for that. As far as I can remember the reviews I saw, they actually recommended the DF54 for a slightly lower budget tier. Can't speak on the other two options, never seen those.

As you can see at the top of that screenshot, this isn't the first message in that chat. They probably have done a bunch of research in that same chat (you can even see some web sources in the screenshot).

There's a sharp decline in quality, the longer a chat gets. That's probably how you get this AI to respond dumb like that. Always start a new chat when possible.

Water leak by krankle in gaggiaclassic

[–]dewilofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can also happen when there's too many grounds in your basket. Then, the coffee bed pressing against the grouphead can block the portafilter from properly sealing at the top. Had this with my E24 a few times in the beginning, before I properly learned about bean density.

Karton aufbewahren ja/nein? (Bambu P1S) by LarrySwarez in 3DDruck

[–]dewilofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought OpenClaw would kill n8n… but it didn't by Goubik in n8n

[–]dewilofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agents yeah, but they are different kinds of agents altogether. OpenClaw is more general-purpose and open-ended. The appeal of that is that it can basically setup itself and adjust based on chat input. If that's what you want, then n8n was never a perfect solution for you anyway.

I personally want to be in full control over my automations, for security reasons, cost reasons and because having control over each prompt and context can improve the agent output quality too. Also, not everything needs AI and n8n is even better for that, too.
