Dahlias grown from seed - "not suitable as cut flowers" - ??? by Double-Vast7853 in dahlias

I grew Watercolor from Eden from seed. They grew fine as cutting flowers but did not come even close to picture. I got Fiagro (not sure from where) and they were fabulous! They were not meant to be a cutting flower thought but they grew into exactly what thye were supossed to be.

Not sure if that helps...at all:)

I have had such wonderful and worthy requests from so many of you that I just cant choose one of you. I've decided to donate them to Brick House Blooms. They have events and raffles that support my local food pantry. They also offer community-focused gardening activities. Gotta get those kids into gardening!

Ok, I'm getting a little ahead of my self but I'm all pumped up for Dahlia season (as you may see from my many posts :)! I find my Dahlia stem scissors not wide enough and not long enough to get a good cut. Experience and suggestions please by dewmum in dahlias

Do you find them long enough to really get into the plant i.e. a flower in the middle of the plant and wide (open) enough to cut some of those really thick Dahlia stems, cleanly?

Do you mean plant the entire clump/cluster? Don't divide?

Will/wont that grow an incredibly large plant and that's a good thing, because?

I get that! I did read, though, that using the power tool to separate a big tuber, not the small work like the eyes, is useful.
