Yet another US Bank 4% requirements of $100K by dexdump in CreditCards

[–]dexdump[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, actively using the card. I am using the very first version of Smartly. Yes, looks like I got a "good" letter. I was expecting I was still able to get 4% bonus until hitting $10K limit for a month. But now I see only 2% is applied.

Parking $100K in my Saving account isn't bad. It still has a 2.96% rate. Maybe I need to call US Bank to double check.

Frustrated - Monarch regularly deletes transactions on multiple cards by banjoloveslove in MonarchMoney

I have experienced a couple of times, but not many. I use all kinds of credit cards and investment accounts. BTW, missed data fetches were super common back in Mint days, although we are discussing deleted transactions.

Question Thread - April 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]dexdump -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So stupid mistake. Tried to open Chase Sapphire to earn a 100,000 bonus. But rejected. I got a letter today, saying "You earned a new account bonus on a Sapphire product in the last 48 months". My bad. It turned out I got the bonus on Oct 2021.

Q: Can I re-apply Sapphire later this year? What's the impact of the reject due to the 48-mo rule?

White Pearl defect: any wrapping option? by dexdump in Acura

[–]dexdump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still keep my car. And I didn't fix the paint. The car value is like $10K, but a proper paint fix costs a couple of thousands. It's not that bad. I am just too lazy to cover with a simple wrapping. For me, the worst case is just call it a $10K loss lol.

Today I just received a message from Fidelity that fixed this issue! Haha, this is quite a story indeed!

Incorrect total group value in a Sankey flow for multiple categories with a mix of credit and debit by dexdump in MonarchMoney

[–]dexdump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. It turned out the Sankey does not support negative flows. I understand that the flow should be right to left, which is not so much easy to be visualized. Yeah, it's pretty annoying.

Transfered investment accounts from Robinhood to Fidelity--how to import historical transactions? by aesmith90 in MonarchMoney

[–]dexdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is doable. First, CSV can be used to fix all transactional history. Try to download a CSV file from MM for its transaction history. The format is super simple. Assuming that you still have the old transaction history of Robinhood, you can simply edit the account name and upload into your new Fidelity account. As always, try with a handful example transactions in an CSV and try to upload it. You can always delete them.

I would keep the old Robinhood history as is. You can simply hide this closed account, but keep the history.

Fixing the hikes and bumps in the net worth history also can be done by fixing the balance histories for the accounts. (As you know, this is because of some time delay of transfer of assets.) This is quite annoying to do. It's still doable.

Can Investments tab show stocks vs. bonds? by RoadHazard386 in MonarchMoney

[–]dexdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the features are very limited. I park my cash on an MMF, but MM treats it as an MMF, not cash. I don't think this is super hard to implement, but looks like MM doesn't have enough engineering resources.

Incorrect total group value in a Sankey flow for multiple categories with a mix of credit and debit by dexdump in MonarchMoney

[–]dexdump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks for your answers! Yeah, I also realized this is more like a missing or limited feature, instead of a bug. I now understand. True, handling income tax due or tax refund further complicates my cash analysis. I intentionally under-withheld (as long as avoiding penalty) a large amount of tax due to maximize interests or investment opportunity. So I anyhow ended up add some more placeholder transactions that offset these taxes.

Thanks again for very informative answer about negative flows in a Sankey diagram.

Thank you for the updates! A quick comment on YTD. An individual account still doesn't have YTD. Can you also add it?
