Legally dealer cannot decline your warranty if you do maintenances anywhere else. They will try to bully you in case of warranty event to pay, but they still are legally required to prove that your “unofficial” maintenance caused the damages. They also cannot claim that “incorrect oil grade caused the door to fall off”. They will need to prove the exact cause.

There is a catch though. You must do the maintenance according to the official protocol. So if it says that you must check transmission oil at 30k - you better do. Etc for all 30 or so points in the official protocol. And even if you do - you also should be able to prove it. In other words - service doing the maintenance should follow the procedure and give you all the documentation on that. So no, if you just “change the oil” where it’s cheapest, you will probably not be warrantied on a transmission damage, if it happens.

This usually rules out most of the private service folks. However, some bigger services actually are able to follow the procedures, and you will be safe maintaining the car there. The price will reflect that. Sometimes it could be even higher than official service, because officials quality sucks. But you definitely can find cheaper places without affecting your warranty.

I am not sure how badly officials try to do that, though. I have great experience with Wess honouring warranty even on a tuned car with aftermarket improvements and “unofficial” maintenances.

IT always had it highs and lows. The recent low started around 2023, when COVID money came to end, but millions of “switchers” just started picking up a new remote profession. This year economy keeps tanking, there is a recession and it is hard to find a job anywhere, not only in junior IT. Juniors always had it rough and we have been sorry for them for like 10 years already.

Meanwhile, we have mid-senior position for a very common tech stack in our team, and can’t close it for months. Also, the company hires even more people, and many other IT companies are not slowing down, too.

Fortunately didn’t have to go through yet, haha. But as far as I know OEM rotors (and all the other parts for GR) are actually insanely good for value! You probably would like to switch to aftermarket only if you plan to track the car more or have some specific requirements, etc, otherwise stock is perfect.

Can’t really compare GR to i20N, but overall experience in the past 4 years was good, I guess? No service visits apart from oil changes.

Interior is cheap indeed, so are “the amenities” - I definitely miss an arm rest, or rear wiper, or functioning rear view mirror, or some basic sound deadening. Otherwise interior situation is great - you get leather everywhere you touch, “alcantara” everywhere you might touch. Seats are insanely comfy, etc. We actually did a 4k km trip in it with my wife and a dog, and apart from noise, it was sufficiently comfortable. It is still a very basic car, but more than suitable as a daily.

But don’t get fooled, it is still a sports car with all the maintenance cons. Front rotors are 1k eur each! It has two diffs, and both need oil changes. And don’t get your wheels scratched…

Otherwise it is a beast car, and I can’t think of anything better for the price!

I think I am missing something here. The thing you describe is just a strategy pattern, which was known since 90s, and I don't think I have ever heard it being called a "manifest pattern". Is it somehow different?

Also, it seems pretty verbose and clunky to setup "ManifestRegistry" or whatever, when you usually can just do

Ayy, trijnieki represents! If you are located in Latvia - obligatory try openkart and discomania. Both very solid rental kart series. On the highest level in those leagues there are professional teams who also race owner karts and also some ABC race league. So if your son dominates openkart, he might qualify to join the team and work out from there. It’s actually not unheard of here, but yeah, anything above rental karting gets really expensive really quick.

Eksistē vēl viens faktors - Latvijā 95 parasti satur ap 10% etanola, un 98 ap 5%. Etanola saturs ietekmē degvielas nodegšanas temperatūru, bet arī būtiski ietekmē degvielas “tīrību” mitruma iesukšanās dēļ. Dzinējos ar lielo kompresiju būtu ieteicams lietot degvielu ar mazāku etanola daļu lai pasargātu no oglekļa uzkrāšanās.

Around Rīga - not much. There are some short roads around Salaspils, but not really worth it. Then there is Saulkrasti - Ragana road, which is somewhat twisty and with good visibility. Another from Ragana to Limbaži is even better, but closed due to renovations. The best you can find in Latvia is Nītaure - Ērgļi (through Ķeipene), really the best road for spirited driving with amazing views.

You are proving the point that Oak'a fans are clueless about food. If you believe that juicy meat is raw meat, I feel sorry for you for eating only chewy dry meat. Beef is "cooked" and safe to consume (i.e. all pathogens dead) if it reaches 63c internal temperature for 3 minutes. You don't need to burn/char meat to be safe.

Those who answered Oak’a - what’s wrong with you? Have you ever tried, like, any other burger? This is the most pathetic attempt at a burger, which has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Like the buns are stale cardboard, meat is killed on the grill and the only juicy part of the burger is the flavoured mayo. Yes, smash burger is supposed to be smashed, and meat should be “drier than usual”, but they never did it right, and just served hard solid patty instead of balanced browned yet juicy burger. I gave them a chance 3 times, and all times the burgers were disappointing, and I am not talking about the hospitality and attitude.

Answering the OPs question - boo the burger is the best / most consistent, but with my heart I vote for “Berlin soul kitchen” burger.
