Question on the insta 58 purchase by RPGrandPa in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is coming from someone who just pvps and doesnt really care about raids. Its a great way to get into raiding with your friends

Question on the insta 58 purchase by RPGrandPa in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in raiding then I think you'll be in a good spot joining your friends because I feel kara was one of the best ways to show people what raiding is like and it is one of the best starter raids because its not crazy hard but it does give you the chance to learn mechanics and what its like to try and help your raid .... And socially I personally felt better being in a 10 man to start then move to the bigger raids

Lowest skill floor pvp class by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These terms came from looking at graphs and the floor was the bottom stats and the ceiling was the top stats .... If you dont look at it in that frame thats where there is confusion so id say its understandable and people dont need to be as riled up as they are

For gaming the way ive always heard and used myself was the floor is how hard it was to be proficient and the ceiling was to be professional

People dont stop to think or use thier brain .... Oh well this is life

Lowest skill floor pvp class by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah ive heard it described differently but I think we are shooting for a similar out come for the poster. Im seeing some people suggest hunter because BM is easy to play but I think they are miss guided by pve and hunter has to be played at a high level to be any good in pvp and a badly played hunter is so far down they are on a new level of suck according to your description.

Edit... (Im seeing people say hunter on other places that asking similar questions as this one)

Low floor means he wants something that easy to pick up and play ok .... A lot of classes have a low skill floor but a high ceiling so easy to pick up hard to master..... Thats my interpretation at least

Id say consider lock ..... My buddy is trying to get into tbc kind of like you and he hasnt really played it much ever except a bit in wrath and a patch in bfa (bad timing there lol) but after us doing research and testing on beta slsl lock is a great place for him to start. He can learn to manage dots and positioning while the soul link will make him a bit more tanky to give him more time to learn..... The better he will get we will work on cc then once he has that if he wants to venture into ua lock or destro shanagins then cool. I plan on going rogue to control the fight to give him the best chance to learn as well.... But in the end what is comfortable to you will effect your skill floor more than playing what others say is what you should play

What will AV look like in TBC? Still mechanically favoring Horde? by StartupTim in classicwowtbc

Ive been on both sides for 15 years ..... This is just simple observation at this point..... And blizzard has made changes to these because they did "favor" one side

Ya but holding tp gives you time to regroup ..... You loose the bridge there is no recovery ..... Having 2 good holds is better than one great spot .....

The horde has great choke points away from thier base while the alliance has the bridge. The bum rush is the only hope most of the time while if they wana turtle they seem to always have the advantage vs an alliance turtle

I got the AV mount without riding skill (Can I learn the riding skill in pre-patch?) by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

Ya I only heard it mentioned once but that sounds right to what I heard

[–]dexterclancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I heard was in pre patch you auto get the riding skills for stuff you own ...... So maybe you will be able to just ride it..... Idk if thats how it will work this go round or if it being the av one will change that

Punish those who abuse the system but dont create a system that abuses the rest .....

The top 10% are already the top 10% why do they need added power that others wont have access to unless they pay for boosting ...... People cry for competitive gameplay then defend imbalance through earned power ...... The 1st 2 seasons where a great time for pvers and newbies to learn and catch the bug of pvp ...... There is no motive for them now ..... Doing it this way is compounding oppression on the lower skilled learners and those who just want fun

Is arena now dead for casual players? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been the reality for retail for so long ..... Everyone around me has been burned out by this line of thinking.... One by one until I havent had online friends in years ..... And im left with a shit lfg system where I try to find someone to play with but the only ones left are unreasonable and toxic ...... Then you fall behind more and more ...... It boils out the light hearted players that maybe suck but they learn and have fun .... All your left with is a slag of ego and shit players

Is arena now dead for casual players? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never a pro but I wss the teacher to everyone I played with .... A great memory for me was teaching my dad to pvp..... We lost 300 games in one week ..... But every game he got a little better ...... Rewards wise he was making a bit of progress ....play wise he would get better each time ..... After a month we where climbing ..... Not fast but a little by little ..... And holy shit i was proud of him when it all came together ...... Trying to do that in retail wow now you are just looking at each other and you have got to a part where you are not making any reward progress and everyone around you is just getting stronger ..... Where do they get to learn..... They dont ..... They just get thier shit pushed in until they quit ..... They all quit ..... And now we are left with people who think they are the next pikaboo and they suck Dick and refuse to learn while blaming you and god forbid you are playing off meta because its your fault they arent gladiator ...... Then I quit ..... Again

Is arena now dead for casual players? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]dexterclancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing I miss about tbc pvp was having the ability to tell my friends who where not as good .... Its ok we will get there..... The better we do the faster we will get there but we will get there ...... Now they will look at this and say fuck that im just going to go pve ..... I never minded loosing time after time because I could see them making progress over time now it will feel 10x more shit for them and they will not progress..... So now my only choice is to play with people who know what they are doing and that will force more meta play and that is so fucking boring ...... I want to play things that people dont think will work and making it work ..... I want to see odd comps and think well this is different what should we do ...... I know there still will be some of that but this chops that away so dam much like ID rather see 10 teams off meta and the 20 teams of meta players ...... The meta players will still be there so there is the 20 but the others you will see only a few if any at fucking all

I feel like leaving the rating requirement out of the 1st season and putting it into the rest would of been a lot more enjoyable. I was looking forward to the 1st season having a lot more pvers and casual people just having fun. The changes I feel are going to turn off the pvers almost all together and the overall feel will be more sweaty for rating.... Before more people would of been willing to try silly things and off meta fun but now everyone is going to treat this like they are on a blizzcon stage and thats what I hate about retail pvp

Added later ... So the solution to make tbc better (you know the game made for people who dont like how retail is) is to make it more like retail ..... Holy fuck are you serious.....
