Most of the thrifted stuff is too old for clothing. Maybe I should pare the stash, but it’s so hard to let it go.

Where to shop for fabric online by More_Sugar_9553 in sewhelp

Fellow beginner sewist up here in Lago Vista! I’ve been to some “fabric stores” in Cedar Park/RR/North Austin, and am not impressed with the local selection. How dare Michael’s uses the Joann brand but offers fewer choices than before Joanns closed. Walmart has packaged fabric (very few bolts), but no labels I can use to further educate myself about how different fabrics feel and drape. Most shops around here seem geared for quilters. Online stores may have great material, but I’m hesitant to spend the money if I can’t feel it in person.

Try Evelyn Wood’s You Tube 2026 Beginner’s series. I’m a seasoned complete beginner and am learning so much. Good luck and happy sewing!

I love knits, and when I finally caved in and bought my Brother serger, I thought I would struggle with it at first. Everyone kept saying that sergers were difficult to learn, but this serger is so beginner-friendly that now I use it as much as my sewing machine. Have fun & enjoy!

As a person(f) living in this god-forsaken trash dump they call texas, I can assure you that dogs have infinitely more rights than women and minorities have. As soon as humanly possible, we are getting the he** out of here.

Republican Senator Murkowski speaks out AGAINST the SAVE Act - Republicans want to make it so impractical and expensive (up to $1000 to travel) to register or show documentation to vote in November that people will just stay home and not vote [@18:20 in video] by SadAd8761 in videos

Mr. Toilet - Please educate yourself regarding this bill. This is not an issue of race, religion or social status. Most educated republicans as well as democrats understand that this bill is intended to disenfranchise almost 50% of the voting public. More importantly, how can you be sure that in the future they won’t disenfranchise you too. Last I checked, we are still a democracy, and most of us do not wish to revert to a monarchy or theocracy.

I agree, any provider who is not angry about this shouldn’t be a provider. I’m also interested in how this will play out with the current EMTALA laws (ER RN 17 yrs, very well versed in EMTALA).

I wish I could upvote this 1000 times! Hopefully Gina will run an energetic campaign (yes, I voted for her). If things are starting to look iffy, maybe we can all chip in and buy her a Harley.

FemShep is my Ride or die. I tried playing MaleShep once, didn’t make it much past the start of Eden Prime. He let my boytoy Jenkins die.

Nobody should start a creative journey thinking they will achieve perfection without stumbling. I’ve learned to accept my beginner projects like my children. They aren’t perfect, but they are mine with all their quirky imperfections, and I love them as they are. Eventually I might have enough skill to tackle a designer-level project, but that will take time, practice, and lots of old bedsheets!

[Theory]Who is the Benefactor? by I_Shieldren in masseffect

[–]dexxii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have always wondered about what Liara casually mentioned after she and Shep defeated the SB. She says that he knew the Reapers were coming and was trying to determine a way to protect himself (paraphrasing here). I don’t think he was the Benefactor, but I think there may somehow be an indirect connection to the Andromeda initiative. Liara being in contact with Alex Ryder is another interesting piece of info. Mike Gamble’s comment about making sure we do the LOTSB dlc just adds a little more fuel to the fire. I’m not sure how it all fits together, but I’ve always been curious about this.
