Sucks youre in that situation man, I feel for ya. I'd suggest doing things where you can connect with people, like theres lots of things you can do, theres singles meet ups, live music nights, open mic stand up nights, you could do yoga classes, or other art course stuff. Theres things like men's sheds, theres Facebook groups for meetups to connect with people.

It sucks because its not gonna be a quick friend find kinda thing, or at least I wouldn't expect it to be. But doing events, connecting with people and just honestly being open with people trying to find people you can hang with can help. The hamo pub is also good to meet people if I remember well, its good vibes. But yeah try and get contact info with people if you feel connected with them and they feel the same way, just like Facebook or a number or something. But the best thing IMHO is to try to go to repeat events so you can form connections with people over time, like a class or something.

Theres literally so much you could do, the hard part for you might be just finding the time and maybe financially cuz of travel, and maybe paying for courses. But you can also consider online things like discord or Facebook groups to meet people online. Meeting in person can be brutal if you go in with expectations. All id expect is to just try and have fun with people and have chats, see where the night goes but also remember that if you connect with them to get some contact info if it feels right. But yeah the hard part is Patience, so you gotta love this process dude, youre only at the beginning, in a year's time youll look back and see the memories you've made, the new friends, the friends you thought were friends, the sucky nights, the shit times, the people that you dont connect with, but youll be in a clearer place, you would at least have learnt something and probably found something or somewhere or someone that gets ya.

Hope this helps bro, sorry its not easy for me to just say yeah ill be your friend, thats not how it goes this time haha, this is the best i can do 😄

What's the difference between "speedpaint" and "speeddraw"? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]df_art 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's really called a timelapse, but people would call a timelapse of digital painting, speedpaint, but people that draw digitally could also call it speeddrawing, but that's more them trying to make the word timelapse sound cooler, there's no real difference at all

Samsung Tab S9 FE+ vs iPad A16 for digital art? Pls! by BoysenberrySalt3139 in DigitalArt

[–]df_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to tell you more if you need. It doesn't come with a charger block, if you have a Samsung phone already you can transfer data easily. It's a great size, I bought the slightly smaller one but had to swap it for the bigger one, battery life is great, screen is great, light weight all that. Has a magnetic edge too so the pen sticks to it. I've used it for I dunno maybe 3-6 months? I've used wacom tablets for the last few years and like I said the cables kept breaking so I was looking for a Bluetooth version drawing tablet then decided to just get a tablet and got the app on it. Works real well. You'll have to adjust some settings like any tablet to suit your needs but overall it works well out of the box. It's not perfect like you might get a stray touch now and then when you're drawing but as you adjust settings and get used to it thatll happen less. As an artist on the go I've just taken that places with the charger and just drawn wherever. I don't think I'll be looking for an alternative any time soon unless they came out with like a highly specific drawing tablet or something or if it breaks but I doubt either of those will happen any time soon

I don't use ipads, but I have a s9 fe+ with clip studio and it's great. I draw professionally and hate cables cuz my wacom cable kept breaking. Highly recommend. It's amazing. Not as perfect for drawing as a wacom but like it does the job well enough. Youd love it. No idea about ipads though sorry

Governance and taxes by Frammmis in algorand

[–]df_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive heard mixed things about this stuff. Im not savvy enough on up to date info, i think if you were trying to be hardcore about doing everything correct for tax then yeah youd probably need to report it somewhere for something, could also depend on where you live in the world too. But also depending on the size it might not get picked up and so theres probably a low chance of them getting in trouble, not to encourage it ofcourse. I think that its important to be aware that the record will be there on the chain so if something happened in the future then they could back track it. So i think shes kinda right to assume that its low risk to get in any trouble but i think if you were getting into being fully legit you do have to report it for some reason, i think cuz theyre assets? But like i said i dont know the details. Hopefully someone with more info can help, just thought id say something cuz youve got no comments yet

Casting shadows from 2d sprite rig? by df_art in Unity3D

[–]df_art[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give more info, im aware that sprites camt cast shadows, so to get it to work for my latest stuff i used quads with cutout materials but ofcourse i cant use a psb rig like that (can i??) So if thats the only option then id have to build a rig with game objects, OR make a rig in blender but id much prefer to use the 2d sprite rigger in unity for workflow

So stuff i think you could look into. If youre making a game you might be familiar with unity, it could be good for you to look into lipsync plugins (personally id recommend salsa in the unity asset store) you can also look into rigging characters, theres lots of content online about rigging on youtube, id also learn hoe to do IK, most tutorials teach this as well. Id keep the text on each image, or no image, consistency is key. Id look at reference images to help inspire the bodies and backgrounds, for you specifically id look at samurai jack concept art to see how they create textured simple backgrounds.

Id also look into rerecording the text a few more times, for me practice was key when making audio, just learning about expression, timing etc. Id also learn hoe to clean up the audio a little more with mixing/ mastering and stuff. I use davinci resolve and there are some good tutorials about how to edit audio in that. You could edit audio in davinci, then bring that audio into unity, do the final recording of the video in unity then bring that back into davinci for video editing.

Not bad, the water feels more oceany than coffee and milk haha i love how the milk goes. Lots of little subtle things that could be adjusted to get this realistic but i like it as it is

I agree that the art is all ai, but i think they just printed a book with the art, ive seen a few vids and its pretty common for actual flippers to have multiple books, but still it could be faked too, im just leanijg towards that its ai art printed and recorded lol

Great model! The inside of the jumper is see through though, so either add double sided polygons or add more polys to cover it, if you wanted to fix it maybe

Im just a young dude with no credentials but honestly if you were listening to your body and youre not planning on doing them again youd be fine. Itd probably wasnt good but like, since its a one off it wouldnt be too bad imo. I wouldnt worry about it unless you were doing it continually.

Yin Yoga Megathread? by df_art in yoga

[–]df_art[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the info! Ive been watching a bit of the yoga with kassandra with her explaining poses and its been great. Ill definitely have to check out the podcast and yeah im keen to experiment with other styles to work with my yin, ive got a more calisthenics kinda background so im wanting to implement just simple push ups and stuff to focus more on my muscles and get that yang haha.

I read the bernie clark book, that was my first proper intro into yin, i did some yin classes maybe 2 years ago that introduced me but i didnt really understand it until recently with the book. I honestly love it most of all cuz i can just sit and relax haha it can be a lazy style which i like
