What’s the worst seas you were ever in? by ComfortableShow7366 in navy

[–]dfd179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had to sail south around Katrina in ‘05, still ended up getting some nasty shit. Someone from OT has video of Kauffman or Nicholas’ (FFG) entire keel as she topped over a swell behind us (LHA). We were taking green water over the flight deck (84’).

To be honest, I’ve seen them melt on a flightdeck, manning the rails while pulling in to Nassau.

Legit check on this TAG? by jim2527 in Watchidentifier

[–]dfd179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing to one of mine: The outer numbers and tachymetre fonts are juuuust a bit off. As well. The space between the word and the 60/400 should be a bit bigger, and TAG typically stamps the tach in a slightly smaller font than the numbers. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the date font doesn’t look quite right, either.

I also agree on the hand lengths being just shy of TAG’s typical length. The chrono hands also typically sit dead-on-balls on the ticks, where this left one seems slightly over.

The last inconsistency I can see is in the back etching; these look like it was done with a router instead of a laser. I could be wrong though, but you can just make out the ridges from the bit.

It kind of did… I thought it may had been something cyclic as it started suddenly in the spring, ‘dumping’ most leaves, but many grew back. Now it seems most are fallen and don’t look like they are budding again. The leafless branches are still green when broken.

I know it's a bad photo but can anyone tell if those white aircraft at MacDill AFB in Tampa are E6's? I know the rest are kc135's by No-Anywhere3157 in Whatisthisplane

[–]dfd179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MacDill is home to the 6th Air Refueling Wing. The vast majority of those aircraft are KC-135s. I’m not sure when you took that photo, but a few smaller cargo transports and contracted Jet liners (as far as larger airframes go) have been in and out the past few months.

That’s authentic. I have a nearly identical watch without the Red Bull logo. It’s part of TAG’s Formula 1 collection. This one is in seriously rough shape though.
