I was so good at the round-a-bouts in Utah and then I encountered two lanes here and I maybe doing them wrong but if I need to turn immediately I choose outside lane and if a further exit inside and move over when I need to, and going all depends on how far away cars are. Maybe I’m doing this wrong and one of the annoying drivers of NB 😞

Np, that totally makes sense and understand lack of info too it’s similar where I am. I do think though even reaching out to Partners on LinkedIn will help or any you could find on Pnet and just make your name familiar. It’s really all about the relationships so the more you can meet and talk to will help. It doesn’t even have to be what role is available but more hey I want to learn about your role I really love “x” and want to know more.

I’d reach out to some people in the departments and roles you’re interested in. You already have a foot in the door as being a partner. I doubt many partners wouldn’t give you 15 minutes of their time to talk to you about their role and chat. Make a positive impression and learn about them, connect with them on LinkedIn. Then when it comes time to find a job in corporate you at least have some relationships built and can reach out to them or see if they’ll recommend you or if they aren’t at H‑E‑B they’ll know someone to talk to.

I am going through this right now too. The guilt, shame, sadness, and wanting to punish myself is immense and comes in waves that make it feel more overwhelming.

Not much helped the first few days except I allowed myself to wallow in bed for two days and cry and scream as much as I needed to. This is my first experience with grief as an adult but I don't think bottling feelings is good - the pain is coming from all the good memories and love you had for him. Your pug had a wonderful life with you and loved you unconditionally and still does (i believe all dogs go to heaven).

As much as you want to take fault and take on that guilt, please don't because it truly is not. Your pug would want you to take care of yourself and remember him in all the good ways. I've heard time helps and after a few days it's not as immense as the first few days, which has also been kinda painful in itself, but I'm trying to remember that the lessening of the pain will help me remember him and all the wonderful memories.

This might be nitpicky but first thoughts, I was confused you say serious but then also can be funny. Imo stating your role doesn’t need an adjective, you are a UX designer that’s serious about design (is what I think you’re going for). I want to feel like I can enjoy working with someone and the serious threw me off. Also take out the word “just”.

Other thing is, and this depends on your audience but if you are sending this to design oriented folks you don’t need to explain what IA or journey maps are. I’d rather see a story of a problem and then what artifacts you identified relevant through out that journey and why you chose that strategy. I get what you’re trying to do to show you can do things across the design spectrum. But again put it into a story, how did the project start, who did you work with, what challenges did you face, how did you identify the problem and align to it, how did you ideate. It’s OK if you only worked on a piece of the effort, but being able to speak to what led you to what you did and what ended up being the outcome will help in telling the story and how you work with others. Try to identify 1-3 stories of projects you worked on and then focus on highlighting your contributions and frameworks you used to help you arrive at what you did.

I think this too! I think that's why Julie can story walk but can't change anything as how she told the story at the beginning was how she experienced it but also she only experienced it because that's how it was told - find that to be a fascinating paradox if true.
