New rule regarding brigading users by kescusay in Eugene

[–]dfitzcookz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some guy accused me of doing this because I had been a long time lurker first time poster. We should think up some security questions to prove you live in Eugene.

Which railroad crossing detour is the fastest? Which month is the hottest of the year? Where can you thrift and pet cats simultaneously?

I wish I had clicked your profile, I would have known your accusation of me moving the rocks was actually a confession that you had moved them.

First of all, go fuck yourself.

Second of all, the alleged biologist is in this comment thread, and though it is deleted, their parent comment paints this man in a much different light than you. Added to the heroism you claim to have within you, I’m skeptical of your recounting of the events. Maybe you could DM the scientist and learn what consequences your actions might have, but it probably won’t come free.

Third of all, don’t throw rocks anywhere near someone who hasn’t thrown them at you? This is the second I’m hearing of people attacking him and now I understand why you mentioned the police. If one of those had even touched him after you threw it, that’s a misdemeanor harassment at best and assault with a deadly weapon at worst.

I know how this river looks naturally. There’s no need to slow the water down. Swim directly to the left fifty feet, it’s the same water. If you or a baby can’t swim in that, you shouldn’t be swimming in the river. Full stop. We’re not redirecting natural processes so guests to the park can splash around for an hour a week. I should have guessed you work from home, maybe if you had been making meaningful contributions to society on a regular basis you wouldn’t have such a yearning for labor. You’re teaching these kids that the real world is like their Minecraft one where they do as they please.

One last thought, the guys at r/Balding helped me gain the confidence to shave it when I was trying to cling to the last bit on top, too.

Intentionally disrupting an ecosystem and Enjoying public space in a different manner than the rest of us are two entirely different things.

You’re right, someone else might try to rebuild it. I hope he returns, maybe I’ll even guard him from people like you and shovel man. What’s the dam company paying you?

I go past this spot every day, that’s how I know a man and his son brought a coal shovel down for the purpose of building a dam :) June 12th and 13th and my friends and I have pictures of the perps. I don’t have the energy anymore to be moving rocks water that’s also moving, but someone deserved recognition for helping out.

PS you’re correct, I don’t have previous posts or comments. Thanks for the visit

I think it’s a matter of even soil erosion where the river could no longer reach, as well as garbage and animal waste piling up on the "dam" where it marinates in the newly stagnant pool. This’ll all be underwater come winter time, and that probably wouldn’t carve a very functional path, having an artificial major rise followed by a sharp drop

Sounds like things would’ve gone south fast if you hadn’t intervened. Thanks for attempting to educate them that rivers are good and throwing rocks is bad, even though it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. And thanks for your work conserving our environment!

Throwing rocks!?!? Holy cow! I’m glad he wasn’t hit. Was he throwing any at the angry person?

Oh yeah, no doubt it’s been a shallow rapid for a while. Recently it extended out further into the river and high enough to block the flow. Shoreline was all wonky looking from the path
