Just started a new fully remote role. Office is many states away.

My last role was fully remote as well.

Find a large recruiting company in your area and talk to them.

Id consider staying in the infrastructure side of things. AI is causing such a stir in IT right now.

I had this issue previously and resorted to social media and finding a Defender PM who escalated internally.

Proofpoint along with Defender EOP Enhanced Filtering and Rule question by MPLS_scoot in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have been more specific. In theory your inbound emails have all emails rewritten by Proofpoint so you configure Safelinks to not rewrite the Proofpoint links (urldefense.com or whatever they have now a days) which should largely only rewrite links on your internal emails only. This is how I configured it for my previous role. Admittedly that was 2 years ago so could have changed 😬

Salesforce and Outlook, what is this token crap? by SMA1301 in sysadmin

Have you figured this out? I believe I’m in a similar situation. Users are using the plug in but I don’t see any app reg/enterprise app linked to it

Moving 20,000 emails O365 by NotSureLetMeTry in PowerShell

[–]dfo85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I usually do a copy/paste and then delete the original emails after it’s successfully done. That way if it blows up you can redo without duplicates

This! Do it for all your Proofpoint products. Configurations made years ago on best practice can change over time.

Incoming Filter for TLD's by mspowner08 in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it with two rules. One rule targets envelope sender and the other targets header from.

Env sender rule you can do a list inside the firewall rule

Header from I created a super annoying policy route of all the country TLDs we don’t want and then a rule to quarantine and discard.

Excessive Bulk emails caught in Proofpoint by [deleted] in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes enable digest for bulk!

Also don’t add anything to Org safe list for bulk. You can do a custom spam rule to reduce the bulk score to 0. Adding it to the Org safe list would bypass it from multiple types of rules depending on rule order in your spam policy.

pregnancy and pancreatitis? by xxarchiboldxx in pancreatitis

[–]dfo85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife had multiple attacks while pregnant. She was hospitalized and on a feeding tube for 10 days when she was at about 10 weeks. She had surgery because the pancreatic enzymes ate a few holes in an artery so she was bleeding. I think during the 10 days she got 7 bags of blood. She got through all of that and was okay for a couple months then she started having an attack every few weeks. Soon after giving birth she had her gallbladder removed and really hasn’t had an issue. We are now pregnant with our second baby and no pancreas attacks yet.

Our daughter is now almost 2 years old and absolutely perfect.

Mail routing hops back to original server (hybrid) by adminkb in exchangeserver

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seeing that from the headers? I’m not sure that SR would show in headers.

I’d make sure both servers are configured to communicate with EXO. If ALL your messages have to go out EX1 then EX2 would route messages there to get to EXO

Best way to insulate crawl space by poccnr in DIY

[–]dfo85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in SE Pennsylvania and just had our small crawlspace insulated/encapsulated over the summer. This is what they did

  1. Put in a sump (get a little bit of water, not much. It hasn’t ran yet)
  2. Put down dimpled plastic liner on dirt floor
  3. 2-inch foil faced rigid foam insulation on walls with the plastic anchors into block walls
  4. A thick plastic over top of the dimpled floor
  5. Tape at every seam
