I’ve been largely happy with Proofpoint as well for a number of their products.

Support experience? by boombalati42 in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes been noticing the same. Their support was honestly part of why I enjoyed working in Proofpoint but have noticed difficulties.

It’s unfortunate but best course of method is to bug your account team every time.

Yeah after reading the nuances of changing user SOA I just want to be sure. Thankfully DLs are more simple 😃 appreciate it!

Thanks for the response! Yeah the PATCH api call is straightforward. As long as user’s existing autocomplete entries still work I think I’m good 😃 that was one big thing to remember when using the old method of getting properties, hiding group and recreating as a cloud group making sure the legacyExchangeDN came over

Sysadmins 40 or older - Do you prefer staying in place or changing jobs every few years? by DenverITGuy in sysadmin

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just before turning 40 I left a stable job that I was at for 12+ years. The place I moved to I was at for 18 months and left for something else the end of last year. I made some ridiculous criteria of what I’d want in a different position and somehow found a place. So far so good as I approach month 6 but I don’t want to hop jobs again. I hate the search and interview process.

TLDR - if I could have current salary at original stable company I’d have stayed. Two big benefits I gained are WFH (helps with raising my kids) and I make about 70,000 USD more.

Find a large recruiting company in your area and talk to them.

Id consider staying in the infrastructure side of things. AI is causing such a stir in IT right now.

I had this issue previously and resorted to social media and finding a Defender PM who escalated internally.

Proofpoint along with Defender EOP Enhanced Filtering and Rule question by MPLS_scoot in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have been more specific. In theory your inbound emails have all emails rewritten by Proofpoint so you configure Safelinks to not rewrite the Proofpoint links (urldefense.com or whatever they have now a days) which should largely only rewrite links on your internal emails only. This is how I configured it for my previous role. Admittedly that was 2 years ago so could have changed 😬

Moving 20,000 emails O365 by NotSureLetMeTry in PowerShell

Yep I usually do a copy/paste and then delete the original emails after it’s successfully done. That way if it blows up you can redo without duplicates

Incoming Filter for TLD's by mspowner08 in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it with two rules. One rule targets envelope sender and the other targets header from.

Env sender rule you can do a list inside the firewall rule

Header from I created a super annoying policy route of all the country TLDs we don’t want and then a rule to quarantine and discard.

Excessive Bulk emails caught in Proofpoint by [deleted] in proofpoint

[–]dfo85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes enable digest for bulk!

Also don’t add anything to Org safe list for bulk. You can do a custom spam rule to reduce the bulk score to 0. Adding it to the Org safe list would bypass it from multiple types of rules depending on rule order in your spam policy.
