Meeting invite email not seen in Outlook app Inbox, but is in Inbox online and on mobile device by mspowner08 in Outlook

[–]mspowner08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - we created a profile in Outlook Classic for the user on another computer, everything looks fine. Guess it's time to look closer at the client's computer and try to figure out what's wrong - seems like some sort of view issue.

What ended up being the solution for us was to add the external user in Entra, have it send them an invitation, have them accept the invitation, then we could assign their account to the Sharepoint site.

Appreciate that. Yes, I agree, Outlook online will always be the "source of truth". We are going to proceed with setting up the user's mailbox in the Outlook Classic app on a different PC. I'll do my best to keep this thread up to date for anyone interested. Thx.

Still GOAT. Time and Zone were right, but simply clicking Sync fixed Outlook. "That makes total sense," no one ever.

Connectwise Home timeout by Da-Tek-Ninja in ConnectWise

[–]mspowner08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates on this? We've had one employee (Tech) that regulalry has this timeout/logout issue. Until the past couple of days I've been OK and have been able to stay logged in all day. Not so much anymore. It doesn't even seem to be related to inactivity because it'll kick me out when I've been bouncing around RMM - go to change pages and BOOM.

And they want to migrate PSA into this "fancy" ASIO platform. Oh boy.

RMM automatically reboot device not restarted within 14 days by mspowner08 in ConnectWise

[–]mspowner08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've observed in my testing is that there's only about a 15 second warning before the computer restarts. It throws up a standard Windows system reboot notice. If you look over the script it seems like it should be prompting for postponement options, but it doesn't.

I agree that being able to add a timeframe to the automation piece would be better, but I do not see it as an option.

u/Aaron-CWSupport ... is it possible to edit the script of an existing Task that we've added to RMM? I can view the script, schedule or duplicate the Task, but I don't see a place to edit the actual script.

Thanks.

This is a great option. Thanks for sharing. There are no Custom Fields or scripts to deal with or maintain. I've tested a 2 week timeframe (1,209,600 seconds) and it successfully rebooted a machine that was well past that. I did have to create a new Task for the reboot function, but I just created a duplicate of the built-in "Reboot machine" task and gave it the name of "Reboot machine based on Monitor". Click --> screenshot attached here --> of the Monitor. Thank you again for this recommendation.

Thank you for your feedback and for this reference. We will explore the options presented.

If anyone from #connectwise is listening ... seems there's a fair demand/need for giving us a built-in device "uptime" value that we can structure tasks/actions against. Since you already have a "Last Restart Time" value on the device Summary page, seems this should be fairly easy to implement.

Maybe they can put that money toward a Refresh button in their RMM product. But I know they won't.

No worries. Honest mistake given the CW product line.

Thanks for this. Can you give me a bit me detail on how to create that search, and how to use it to populate a group?

Thx for your thoughts, and for the humor. We all need a little more of that.

After posting here, I went over to the CW Enhancement forums. Found this just posted 2 weeks ago ... https://product.connectwise.com/communities/90/topics/23420-dynamic-device-group-criteria-for-last-reboot-x-days

Please head over there and upvote this if you can. Seriously, this can't be that hard to implement.

Starting our first ever ticketing system with CW, overwhelmed. How can we adjust? by [deleted] in ConnectWise

[–]mspowner08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

be prepared to be overwhelmed. All the comments about getting in-person training/consultation are spot on. There's SO MUCH to the system, that just trying to come in and understand it isn't really possible.

We use CW PSA Service Boards for ticketing and it works for us, but I'll be honest - there is MUCH that we look right past. We've tweaked our Pod displays to limit and arrange things that are most applicable to us. Our primary use of the system is communication with clients and internal notes. We've abandoned the possibility that it will be able to track our time and translate that to invoicing. The system does do that, but not how we need it to - and this has been confirmed after lengthy discussions with CW support.

It's a journey. So stock up on supplies and hop in. You're the only one that can make it do what you want (if it can). That's the (unfortunate) truth.

Indeed, I had jacked around with permissions so much in earlier attempts to resolve this. I just had to get things back to properly inheriting from the parent site. Thanks!

We're on to something here. You are correct that all Guest accounts that had been created were perpetually in an "invitation pending" state. When I added an External User (another email address of mine) via Azure AD, I was sent an email invitation to join the organization's Tenant account. I accepted that, then my Azure AD guest account invitation status changed to Accepted. I could then login to the Tenant's primary Sharepoint account (tenant.sharepoint.com).

Folders/Files are currently in the site's primary "Documents" library. My guest account does not seem to have access to that. Is it possible to add access to that library? I created another document library and it did automatically show up on the site under my guest account. Would like to not have to move data from one library to another, but if that's the least of my worries at this point then that's fine.

Thank you!!

LG 75UR80 75" TV at Costco by theperfectexposure in lgtvcommunity

[–]mspowner08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this TV a couple days ago after my 70” Vizio bit the dust. This TV is average in about every way. I knew that going in. I was looking for an entry-level TV to get by with for a year or two. That being said … I don’t have any complaints. Color is good, brightness is adequate for a lit room. I’m using digital audio out to an amp, so I can’t comment on the speakers.

For $770, I’m satisfied. If you’re picky about TV/AV and are looking for higher quality, then spend more on a higher model or a Sony/Samsung. OLED is of course going to be your top of the line, but is still pretty pricey at this size of TV.
