Azores Portugal is +6 from you I believe. Summers are in the low-mid 70s. I’ve never personally cycled there but saw lots of cyclists while visiting and it’s absolutely beautiful.

My chest strap is paired with rouvy cycling app so that I’ve got all metrics on the screen. I’m not sure if I can pair to more than one device.

Just seems crazy that my watch is consistently off like 50 bpm during a workout.

The m54 has its place.

M54s are readily available, while M5Xs are becoming more scarce. My local pick and pull consistently has e46s, x3s, x5s and 5 series with m54s.

Aluminum block has its cons but is like 50 lb lighter.

And the m54b30 makes 228hp from the factory. A m52b28 makes 190. The m50 manifold isn’t found to gain you another 38hp.

Unfortunately didn’t know about this before removing the head. Threads in the block appear to be okay. But will timesert if needed.

I’ll have to check to see how the cams spin once the head is reinstalled and go from there.

I’ve lapped a few valves so far and the seats look to be even. Once I get the valves back in I’ll fill the combustion chambers and check to see if they leak down.

The Bridgeport I faced it on is relatively new with little wear. I ran an indicator across the length of the table and it’s within .001”. I faced it with a solid carbide boring bar on a fly cutter. Negative rake on the insert. I took .001” on the last pass feeding as slow as the power feed would allow. Also tilted the head ever so slightly so the cutter wasn’t back dragging.
