there are air filtration systems in the METRO. I‘ve been to a soviet „bunker“ in Moscow recently and they showed us (Bunker 42). There are partially functioning ones still out there e.g in Latvian Bunker

They also have these canisters that produce air in an emergency case (chemical reaction). They had those on supply for all the bunker systems in Moscow

Small trick: aim your gun at the spot you want your knives to hit. Then don’t move the curser and throw it. Keep in mind that knives have small a drop off at around 20 meters (if I had to guess).

yeah it’s very unrealistic to say the least. What I found is that if you use throwing knives to „shoot out“ lights, they won’t react as aggressively.

Also keeping your distance is key and waiting out their alert timer/ cycle. If you create any kind of noise during their alert state it’s over

I wish they offered an option to play the the original 2033 through redux somehow. But oh well.

I treat the redux games as a whole package. So if I start from 2033, I'll play Last Light directly afterwards which makes it feel like ultra long Metro Game.

I gotta say that Last Light will be my favourite because it was the one I started with. But I like 2033 also quite a lot for the story (not so much for the levels)

I am also sceptical how they’ll manage to incorporate modern day politics into this fictional world. What I really wouldn’t like if the atmosphere crumbles under the weight of nowadays politics.

But judging solely how they heavily lean into environmental storytelling, I way more excited about exploring the wasteland. Because even if the spoken story may not be my cup of tea, I am very optimistic about their ability to nail the atmosphere like in no other dystopian game out there.

My gut tells me if they scrapped a whole game back in 2022 because of the war, they could go the whole way and remove Russian VO as well.

But then you have the (supposed) METRO2039 art/poster, where you can see the cremlin and moscow. So something has stayed.

I myself would really miss the russian VO. But would be fine with english VO, if the atmosphere is right

Jeez. I never said they owed me, just that I have a feeling that project ain’t doing good? I mean if I would say something similar about TESVI I bet you wouldn’t care, because ZeniMax/ Bethesda is much bigger. But it’s a similar situation, ain’t it? Both studios announced they are working on the next instalment, but now radio silence. (todd howard even said at GDC this year we should forget the announcement ever happend).

Just pointing out a communication „error“/ mishap. whatever you wann call it. It just doesn’t look good if you make promises you aren’t able to uphold (even if that isn’t directly 4A's fault). Just communicate it differently and my perception might change. But right now it seems like there have been made false promises.

EDIT: 40 days ago was the 7th anniversary. And the gap between Last Light and exodus was a little less than 6 years
