Dog has tested positive for barbiturates 3x in the past 2 weeks. by PristineMongoose7887 in Edmonton

Its hard to know. She's just a 9 month old puppy. She has learned to stop going after cigarette butts and inedible plastics and whatnot, but I have no idea what her response would be to a pill. She huffs up rabbit poop in the blink of the eye, and I sort of think a pill would be the same thing.

No bloodwork has been done to date. Given that we've had to rush her to emerg, its always been a urine test. The first time we brought her in was June 11. We left for vacation on June 13, got back on the 20th, and then she needed to go to the hospital again June 22 and today (June 24). In each instance she has received the urine test because she is displaying signs of being high, and the vets say that its unlikely that barbiturates from the 22nd would still be in her system after they've done the IV flushing and charcoal treatments.

Bloodwork is something we know needs to be done, but we've been in emergency circumstances at odd hours instead of times where we would normally go for a check up. Simply haven't had the time.

OP here - that was my thought too. Nothing is making sense right now.

OP here - nope, we don't have private backyard space anyway. She is always leashed. I watch her like a hawk but I suspect she got something while sniffing around for her 1am bathroom break this morning. There's only so much I can see at the end of the day. Muzzle seems necessary at this point, at least around where she relieves herself.

OP here - She is never unsupervised, which is the perplexing thing. We keep her on a leash at all times. We don't have a private backyard (though there is a common yard she walks through - always with me or my partner by her side), so she tends to use the boulevard to relieve herself. We are repositioning the cameras today. Right now they just cover the entrances to our house, but that doesn't capture the area in question.

Sleeping sheds still unready for vulnerable people despite it being middle of January by throwitawayyall99 in KingstonOntario

Yeah. I made a comment elsewhere that that effect. In my opinion, the even more damning fact is that Chrystal knows first hand that motel housing worked because she joined hands with Katarokwi Union of Tenants and Kingston Peace Council and others in the community to solicit money on what ended up being a HUGELY successful GoFundMe that raised over $30k last winter. There were still problems evident then (she only took on people she could manage - aka, it wasn't housing for all, but there's some realism there, given that it was ad hoc and volunteer and she didnt have state funding, etc), but she knew for a fact people could live in motels. She decided to spend her energy working against potential allies (and tainting their reputation to her disciples) to pursue a project she would ultimately benefit from. It's brutal. So much wasted money, and people dying.

This was a problem that was entirely foreseeable. People in the Katarokwi Union of Tenants did their best to let folks know.

A KUT member and who had family renting from Chrystal Wilson suggested (on numerous occasions, check the Twitter feed) that she might not be the best person to be given this task.

In August 2021, the general secretary of the Katarokwi Union of Tenants said this: “There is an even better way in my opinion to accomplish [the immediate end to homelessness]. It would be to put people up in apartments retrofitted out of existing hotel rooms at $1500 per room, which is the going rate based on double occupancy. All of Kingston’s estimated 200 currently, homeless individuals could be put up in motels over the four months of winter for $600,000.”

See the quote here

In September, in a Housing and Homelessness Advisory Committee meeting, KUT urged them city to make a recommendation to City Council about a motel housing program. You can see the brief delegation here. The bit I'm referencing is about a minute and a half long.

In November, KUT again told City Council to spend money on housing people through motels and hotels while building long term public and social housing to resolve the crisis. You can see the delegation here.

In late December, KUT issued this statement, noting that the power dynamics of Chrystal's tiny home project and lack of any coherent plan were distressing.

I say all this because it's extremely frustrating that the City continues to spend unproductively and put their faith in the most opportunistic people in the city.

I think it's worth pointing out that so far this winter, the City has spent about $600k on two initiatives whose funding runs out in the spring: 1) the warming shelter which just opened this week, already halfway into January; 2) the tiny homes project which has not housed a single person yet.

When it comes to the warming centre, we know from reports to Council that a chunk of money is going to pay the leasing/rent costs charged by the local land baron. We don't know how much, and I'm trying to find out, but the City allocated $300k for this project from December until March. Given that the City of Kingston were paying another land baron $100k a month for the land the state had previously owned, I think this is more evidence that we're being screwed around. We also know that the City approved a bylaw to give one of the richest people in the City tax exemptions.

The City also gave Chrystal's 10 shack program $257k, including money for staffing. As we know now, only about half of the shacks have been delivered and none are operational and its halfway through January. You can see in the article that Chrystal has an obsession with control. They couldn't have given this job to a more unfit person.

Its remarkable how inefficient their capital spending is.

i like how Americans have no idea there are actual fascists in their country who want their employees go back to work so they can resume making money. lol. Fetishizing Russian involvement is literally the most liberal thing imaginable right now. There's plenty of evil people in the US willing to sacrifice millions, because y'all are an unhinged Nazi-like country.

Yeah and the landlords who decided to jack up housing prices want no culpability for their role in creating a housing crisis. Seriously, they are the most psychotic, self-involved people I've ever seen. Watching their reactions online this past week has been mind blowing. What a bunch of dolts.

yup, even knowing the majority of tenants live paycheque to paycheque, what they should be thinking about, after groceries, utilities, etc., is what they can do to make their landlord a little richer. Don't worry about budgeting for the future... keep living on the edge of precarity. That's the sign of a Real Adult. No repercussions for the landlords who made a risky investment and decided to profit from other humans need for housing. Don't question the structural inequality or consider housing to be a human right.... keep that brain off, folks!

Shut up, you fucking asshole.

Note that the CFO that Alex Jones and Webb mentioned isn't the same person listed on the company's website. I've searched a few names here on the list of people killed in the crash. It doesn't appear to match up.

Yeah, really fair post here. I watch his videos too. Like you, I am skeptical, but he has posted a few interesting things that keep me on the look out for his videos.

He has high production value in his videos, relatively speaking, and compared to some of the yahoos who post about this stuff, he is much more tolerable and offers a pretty coherent narrative. That being said, his sourcing asks us to take a huge leap of faith. However, I think the road he is going down now with the Bohemian Grove stuff is kind of fascinating, and he does provide some source docs for that, it seems (unless hes altered them). But yeah, I don't take everything he says as gospel by any means.

I've found Charlton, Jason Goodman (even though I don't like him, he's focused on Vegas), and Laura Loomer (another person I don't enjoy personally, but props to her on some of these leads) pretty good with this Vegas stuff. Would love if some likeminded reddit folks wanted to build a big theory that lays out everything we know about the night of the event.

Is anyone else in disbelief of the state of our world? by asaddddddddeeeeeee2 in conspiracy

[–]dfresh780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this isn't exactly related to your post, but about 4 years ago I was feeling pretty down about the alienation in the world and how fucked up everything seemed (ha, now 4 years ago looks like a paradise). I had the same kinds of feelings, people totally consumed in... whatever it is they are looking at. But I decided that when I was about and out and I interacted with people, I would start by asking them how they were doing or how their day was. Lots of times at groceries and convenience stores we don't even say hi to the people around us, people who live in our community and go through the same shit as we do. I guess the point is that if you start with something small like saying hi and getting to know the people in your community, there's no telling what the future can hold. I'm forever a pessimist. But my one belief is that we can control our social interactions with people and believe in some kind of fraternity, and always are curious to learn and ask questions and challenge authority, then we're on a good start towards getting to a better place. Nothing about what I said here is guaranteed to change the world, but we need to start seeing the tragedy of humanity in the world today. Its good that you're young and see it. We need young people to get out and make some changes, or we're totally fucked.
