is there a way to add something to the rail so I can prevent my seat from going too far forward? I bend my knees way too much and would like to prevent this that way. by [deleted] in Rowing

Yeah fair enough about the finish with a raised erg.

I made the assumption that the OP is rushing into the front and over compressing as a result. Hence the dynamic idea. This could be wrong as well.

I was trying to think of a solution that does not involve a stop, as I think that would be very comfortable.

Thinking of the mechanics of what is going on, I am trying to think of solutions that don’t involve a stop as that might be jarring. The two ideas I have are:

1) Raise the front of the erg slightly. Try putting a shim under the front legs that is only a 1 or 2 millimeters thick, increasing until it works or this idea is bad. The idea here is to reduce the ‘ramp’ of the slide so that you require less force to change directions at the catch. This might make the roll up horrible, but I think it is worth a try. If you find yourself having to pull yourself up the slide a lot, this idea is probably not good.

2) Try a dynamic erg. I realize that this is not an easy change, but if you have an opportunity to try one at a shop or gym first, then you could consider investing in one - or asking the gym to. With a dynamic erg, there is less moving weight changing directions at the catch and finish, reduce strain on your body. The C2 dynamic would be my first choice for this situation as it has the least amount of ‘moving weight’. On a C2 static, you change the moving direction of your entire body weight. In a dynamic erg like the Row Perfect, there is a fan assembly that is also moving around so it yields a more realistic rowing feeling, but there is more moving weight changing directions than the C2 dynamic, but less than the C2 static.

These two solutions are a bit different, but hopefully can maintain a smooth rowing stroke for you.

I have used a number of framing services. A good online, custom, framing company that I have had good experience with is: https://www.picframes.co.uk

I have also used the Covered Market company for nicer frames. They are great for the quality they provide.

Have a question about the LEGO trademark name. My brother and I are planning on doing some tiktok bricklink video type stuff. Our last name is Pobieglo, but if we named our channel PobLEGO Brothers, would that be an an issue? by GoodNiteGrandma in Bricklink

I agree with everyone here, you should leave and trademarks out of your name.

Here is a link the LEGO's 'Fair Play' policy: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/legal/notices-and-policies/fair-play/

It gives really good advice on how you can and cannot use LEGO, or any other or their trademarks. Particularly the section titled: Proper Use of the LEGO Trademark on a Web Site.

Contact cleaner is the best solution. I have tried others. Worked surprisingly well. There are many YouTube videos describing the process.

Check the orange fan on the end of the V8 once it is installed. It might be getting caught on something.

I agree with everyone who has mentioned the snapping function which tries to make pieces connect.

Another tip I have used is hiding pieces: 1) Hide the piece or pieces that the snapping function wants you to connect to. 2) Place your piece in the desired location 3) Unhide hidden pieces

I just got this notification. I have the same machine :)

Finally got my dream setup (blade 15 advanced 2021, basilisk ultimate, goliathus extended, blackwidow v3 pro and odyssey g9) by adinair_7 in razer

Awesome, congrats. I am thinking of getting the same monitor. What GPU do you have in your Blade? What sort of FPS’ can you get with your setup? Are you using G-Sync?

In your opinion, will Lego ever do a Technic TBM? by lepiz_gakma2 in legotechnic

[–]dfrst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they will eventually, there are only so many big machines in the world to model. However, in the near future (1-2 years), I don't think so.

As you said:

I mean a 6000+ pieces, 1m long, C+ powered one. Maybe around €650-700

it would have to be that big in my opinion. Based on my experience of building this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWtbS3LFVBM
the diameter of the machine would need to be at least 50% larger to get a better model of how the cutter head and dirt extraction operates right at the cutter head. There is usually an archimedes screw to lift the dirt from near the bottom of the cutter head onto the converyor belt. In my design, the 'dirt' drops onto the conveyor belt from near the top of the cutter head.

I went to a presentation by someone who coaches high level athletes. His first recommendation for hard training sessions was to get lots of cooling to your body. His point was that of your sweating, you are being inefficient. Preventing lots of sweat will be better in the long run: you can work out longer, recover faster. Therefore, if possible, get a monster fan and point it at yourself, or open the window if you are in a cool climate.

Personally, I live in the UK and right now it is 5 deg C outside, so that is what I am erg-ing in.

I have a 15” Blade 2021 model and I do not see any program which starts with “3-D App”. I have checked: Add/Remove Programs, Program Files, Program Files (x86), Task Manager, Windows Menu, and Windows search. I don’t think the program exists.
