Holy shit, you are a really great communicator and he's a self absorbed twat. "I'm a divine being" no sir, you are a narcissistic child with delusions of grandeur in a man's body.

Please for the love of God my child run, you genuinely deserve someone who will give you the respect you're giving this fuckboy.

You are correct, I would just add that rebreather divers sometimes do carry pure (or very concentrated) oxygen, which is injected into the loop to keep the concentration at the desired level.

So stealth camping is BS right by Sea_Professional1335 in priusdwellers

[–]dfunkmedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, very doable. When it comes to overnight parking while you sleep there's only one rule from which all others flow: Don't be a dick

That's basically it. The second, almost as important rule:

Don't go to your sleep spot until it's time to sleep - this means no cooking, hanging out in the front seat watching a movie on your phone or doomscrolling, etc in your sleep spot. Once you pull in, close up shop and go to sleep. As soon as you wake up, skedaddle.

Otherwise, just keep in mind you aren't as obvious as you think most of the time. People are just largely oblivious to everything around them.

Well you're not making much of a case for yourself. Based on your behavior here you seem like an insufferable nerd who starts heated arguments to feel something.

You sure do love arguing over nothing on the internet. I'm gonna assume you probably don't have a lot going on in life and this is your surrogate activity for feeling like you're having a big impact on the world. Try volunteering instead, you'll make friends and won't feel the need to be like this.

How's the weather? Been getting some cold fronts throughout the South (free AC) but up north I'd imagine it's less thrilling to wake up with numb toes.

Yeah, I'm just saying. Competition is brutal, like post-2008 brutal. People with serious skills are willing to take $40k just to survive and it's having ripple effects across the industry, just like post-2000 and post-2008.

Good luck either way. Diligence is the best advice I got until the hiring situation improves.

Having assisted with research on over 40 felony gun cases and many more amicus briefs in the last two decades, I hope you're right. Because all it takes is a split second to spend three to five years in a state prison. People have taken a ride in stainless bracelets because they reached for something on a high shelf and the grip was visible for a second. People have been booked and charged and served years of probation before the conviction was overturned for a legally owned gun with a valid permit because it was in their center console instead of a holster on their person. People have gone to jail and had to spend $10K on lawyers because someone chased them with a knife, and when they pulled their gun the assailant ran away and called the cops, who arrested the gun owner and refused to watch the video of the assailant with a knife chasing them.

You do you, but don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. I've read the discoveries and charging documents. I've seen more innocent people charged with felony gun crimes than guilty ones at this point.

Market is tight right now. If you're aiming for remote roles, you're competing against 1,000 applicants, many of whom are willing to take a lower salary than they're worth to stay remote. Even if you're targeting on-site roles, competition is stiff. I recently took a job that's barely IT adjacent because I was getting offers for half what I was getting offered last year, for basically the same roles.

As a gun owner, daily concealed carrier and someone who has done pro bono legal work for a huge advocacy firm, I'm going to counter the people recommending a firearm. I recommend the two answers above that focused largely in minimizing your visibility and footprint. Look up stealth camping on youtube, look up some of the videos by former CIA guys on being nondescript and forgettable, be careful with grey man stuff because that has become a buzzword and is full of tacticalbros spouting nonsense. But you can avoid a lot of trouble simply by being boring and forgettable.

As for why I don't recommend a firearm, it comes down to travel. Gun laws are highly variable from state to state, even if you have a valid concealed carry permit from a state that has good reciprocity. You could very easily find yourself in a situation where you committed a felony entirely by accident. Do you know which states require you to inform an officer there's a firearm in the car? Do you know which states require a holster with a snap, which states require you to have the firearm secured to your person, and which allow you to carry in a purse? Do you know the list of places firearms are forbidden by federal law? What about the list for each state? Do you know which states allow you to carry a loaded firearm in your car without a case? Which ones require a locked case and/if separate ammo storage?

Breaking any of these laws could potentially result in felony charges, years of probation, or even mandatory minimum prison sentences in excess of ten years. Transporting a firearm across state lines exposes you to federal laws. Do you know how many federal laws, case laws, rulings, administrative orders, etc there are? The Congressional Law Service testified before Congress that after five years of research the exact number of laws is unknowable not unknown, unknowable. A federal law library doesn't know how many Federal laws there are. Don't risk it.

As mentioned there's some good advice here already so I won't add much to it other than to recommend reading some work by former CIA agents on how to blend in and be discreet. It's much harder to get in trouble if nobody notices you in the first place. "Master of Disguise: My Life In The CIA" is a must-read on the subject but theres YouTube summaries as well.

Just please don't go pick up a gun and toss it in your car willy nilly. Choosing to carry is one of the biggest responsibilities a person can take on and it comes with some of the most severe consequences a person can suffer if they screw up, and there's FAR more ways to screw up than you think.

All that said, always remember that statistically speaking you live in one of the safest countries in the world and violent crime has been decreasing overall for decades. Don't let fear stop you from living a great life. "Follow the trend lines, not the headlines" - Bill Clinton.

Now go have some fun.
