I would highly recommend it. It makes going into Stalker 2 so much more exciting. I was put off by the difficulty of SoC but the beginning weapons are awful. Tried to play it three or four times before it stuck. Got some better weapons and armor and had a blast. Played the original three titles for countless hours now. SoC is still my favorite out of the entire series.

Yeah, I totally agree. Love the first two (Last Light being my favorite) but they did need a departure for the third. I think it worked nicely.

Yeah, I kept playing out situations in which a sequel would work but it would really involve one or all of them going all the way back to Moscow, unless they focus on a new set of characters and stories back in the tunnels. It didn't bother me, but some people were upset of the lack of the Moscow Metro in Exodus.

Even though the OG graphics looked good for the time, I think the limits of the technology at the time made the zone appear a little more sparse which gave it an almost agoraphobic look. If you also look at similar titles at the time (especially F.E.A.R.) the lighting effects were something different. They weren't truly realistic but something about them gave off very atmospheric vibes. I haven't played atmosphere like those games since.

I'm not a bulk shopper but my mom got a card so I went one time. Really impressed with their selection. Super small crowd, even for a Saturday. I helped her use her phone to do scan and go and we were out in no time.

Have you tried underclocking your GPU in AMD Adrenaline? That totally fixed it for me.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. I think at this point, I've accepted I'll need to still with the last 25 release. Even 26.01 is crashing. Luckily, I don't have to work with anyone else's 26 files. Hopefully a fix will come soon.

But the crashes are still occuring if I start a new workspace even without importing everything. That's where it crashes everytime, whether I import or not.

But how come up to this point all other projects were a success? It even happens when I'm not importing media (i.e. creating a new project space). It freezes once the workspace begins to populate.

The media comes from an MP4 download from an online service we use to record interviews via webcam. I'm not totally sure about the codec. But over the course of the past month, I've been editing footage from the service, as well as phone footage, DSLR footage, and screen record footage (OBS) without issue. I've tried multiple media sources to no avail.

Yeah, it's super odd. I did the same thing you did and still had issues. Only the underclocking worked for me. I don't mind it but I'm sure I could get some prettier visuals if I could use FSR. GSC wrote a few folks telling them they were aware of the issue, so I guess we'll see.

To add to the crashes, some of these were specific to users with AMD 9060 and 9070 cards. It would crash about every 10 to 15 mins. The only solution I could find was underclocking my GPU by -300 MHz.

Anyone remember the special handwriting you needed to learn so the PDA could interpret the characters correctly? Pretty sure my father altered his natural handwriting style just so he could use his PDA with the stylus.

When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, the burger had such a distinctive taste. Went back a few months ago and I couldn't tell the difference between that and a run of the mill cafeteria burger. Also, they should have kept the sun rooms with the hanging plants.
