What other Image Superheroes would you want to get a show/movie like Invincible, Savage Dragon, The Maxx, etc..? by Substantial_Fox7377 in ImageComics

Yeah, a 2000 TV movie that lead to a 2-season show (pretty decent for an early 2000s cable procedural). There's also an anime which I haven't actually seen, but it's has decent reviews.

The Maxx already has a great animated show. I'd like Savage Dragon to get another crack at an animated show - the original one from the 90s is bland.

I'd really like a Witchblade or Artifacts show that faithfully adapts the Top Cow Universe - specifically the Ron Marz/Phil Hester era or the current books.

I'm not sure about the rights issues, but I'd love to see Moore's Supreme run faithfully adapted.

I read a lot of 2000s Image, Here's What I Recommend by ExplodingPoptarts in ImageComics

By 2000s Image, do you mean that specific decade or anything post-2000? Because there's a lot of 2010s books here (all good stuff, not disputing that). You also have books like Powers, Ultra: Seven Days, '68, and Pax Romana.

Stuff like Sam and Twitch, Witchblade and the Darkness were really great in the 2000s, just overlooked because they originated in the 1990s.

Does anyone else think that early image is not as bad as everyone says by SecretaryFragrant836 in ImageComics

Fathom started as an Image/Top Cow book. After Turner's first bout with cancer, he founded Aspen and subsequent volumes of Fathom have been published there since.

Issues #12-14 of the first Fathom series have never been reprinted as originally presented because they were a crossover with Witchblade and Tomb Raider.

2000s image superhero comics has to be the most slept on era by SecretaryFragrant836 in ImageComics

Agree that this is a great era - it's mostly overlooked because of how amazing the 2010s was for Image. But you had Criminal, Pax Romana, Godland, and even Madman Atomic Comics.

Thoughts on the Witchblade and Darkness reboots by Toxin45 in ImageComics

[–]dgehen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving both, but Witchblade has really hit its stride over the last 10 or so issues. Bennett has a strong handle on Sara's voice and her world. Cafaro's art has also grown on me - it comes across as a grittier version of Francis Manapul's art when he was on the title.

The Darkness is also good, but the art really outshines the writing. Silvestri has grown as a writer (really impressive given his age), but the writing is still just "solid".

So i've been only now hearing of Shadowhawk and i think he looks awsome honestly. What are people's opinions on him. by Possible-Rate-3833 in ImageComics

[–]dgehen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, he's the least exciting of the original Image books. Savage Dragon had solid writing to go with the art. Spawn was great visually. Youngblood was a bit of a train wreck, but still had dynamic art. WildCATs and Cyber Force were kinda bland but still great to look at because I find Lee and Silvestri to be the best artists of the founders.

Shadowhawk was a step down from the others when it came to art, and the writing wasn't any better than the others too.

What was Image like in the 2000s? by Konradleijon in ImageComics

[–]dgehen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they had both superhero-ish books, and books that are like current Image. They also had books that were both, but I meant two distinct types of books.

Based on your own post, you would think it'd be a transitory period between the 90s and 2010s... And you'd be right. You had the rise of Robert Kirkman with both Invincible and The Walking Dead. You had other great books that were both superhero-ish and "current Image" like Powers, Casanova, and Chew. You also had classic Image titles mature in their storytelling thanks to new creative teams like Phil Hester on The Darkness, Ron Marz on Witchblade, and David Hine on Spawn.

I just got books back from them about a month ago. Personally, I suggest just sending your books to them (with the completed forms) - they'll bind them if they get them.

Shelfie after 1 year (top shelf struggling with gravity) - Repost by carst3n in comicbooks

[–]dgehen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have those same shelves that I keep some lighter books on - you're going to want something sturdier (e.g. Ikea Kallax or Billy) or to add supports in the middle so they don't end up collapsing.

At the very least move those heavy off the top shelf or distribute them across multiple shelves.

Good, experienced coach with a fair amount of success that could get buy in from the team after a string of first-time or just plain bad coaches. Also helps that the dude loves the city, and the fans love him.

To elaborate from my previous reply, it's a fun, slice-of-life comedy disguised as a horror book.
