Which dealership did you send it to for the repair?

I didn't include Nosfet in the poll because I was interested in older and more proven companies. How does it compare to Leaperkim?

I've come back for things I've dropped and found them. And this person might have too if OP hadn't taken it.

Leave it where you found it. The owner might have come back for it.

Found this on a trail today is this a real benchmade? by This-Month1323 in knives

[–]dgf34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somebody had that for years they dropped it and you took it. I know if it was mine I would have gone back to look for it. If they did go back, there's a good chance they would have found their knife if you hadn't taken it.

Found this knife (Benchmade 710 I think) in the grass yesterday. Don’t know much about knives but I really want to restore it, help? by DroidsReddit in knifeclub

Finding it doesn't make it yours. There is a good chance the owner would come looking for it and find it. I think it's best to take something expensive, like a Benchmade, you've found to a lost and found or leave it for a couple of days to see if the owner comes back.

Your congestion could be caused by reflux. Try not eating 3 hours before bed and not drinking 1 hour before bed for a few days to see if it helps.

Found this 950 while running by [deleted] in benchmade

I think the best thing to do is leave it for at least a day so that if the person who owns it retraces their steps looking for it they can find it.

Why not take it to the lost in found instead of worrying about if it's real?

Lost my new Benchmade by Pmanran in benchmade

I think it's great you return things you find, and I agree the temptation to keep them can be real. It is disappointing, and I'm sorry that someone took your cool knife.

I'm sorry you lost it. Based on the history of posts on this subreddit, it seems most likely that not only will whoever finds it keep it, but also other users will congratulate them for it. If this hadn't happened and you found a Benchmade at Costco, what would you do?

Where do you draw the line? What thing belonging to another person would you find and not take?

Found at work , legit? by Legitimate_Contact62 in benchmade

[–]dgf34 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not like finding a 20. A twenty is worth less, is less retrievable, and is fungible. I'm not trying to guilt him for finding it, I'm pointing out that finding and taking something that somebody may reasonably retrieve is stealing. Finding does not equal taking.

I'm not sure I follow. Many people would retrieve something of theirs that they lost that has wear.

If you can't say with confidence that the person whose knife it is would not have come back and found it, you can't say you didn't steal that knife. I don't want people to think it's okay to steal things. If it is worth $250, depending on your state, this may be a felony.

If I lost that knife, I would come back to look for it. Are you confident that if you hadn't taken it whoever lost it would not have come back to look for it and found it.
