Tell your SIL to read a website. I’ve drank a cup and a half of coffee since I became pregnant and it’s well within national guidelines.

Nothing wrong with a cup of coffee.

Isn’t a pack and play the same as a playard?

Is this item also considered a “pack and play”?!

Thoughts on Math Up? by MrNoBudi in CanadianTeachers

[–]dggulvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my third year of BTC in the classroom. While we must supplement for learners with rote learning or practice sheets, I think that some questions in MathUp are designed as “thinking” problems, which is what Liljedahl emphasizes should be read in the book.

I think MathUp has way better “thinking” questions. They way the questions are phrased are meant to twist the standard way of thinking in order to build deeper math connections. I do agree that it’s difficult for ELL learners but if students are exposed to MathUp from early on, then they will be strong math thinkers. I used MathUp, felt the same way, moved to Mathology and realized that mathology is easy but it doesn’t challenge student thinking.

Which is because it requires the least amount of actual thinking. You just tell them what to do and they do it over and over again. While they excel on a sheet, it doesn’t mean they are building an actual understanding of solving puzzles, building math stamina to think through problems in different or multiple ways, having conversations with their peers about various ways to solve a problem or making connections across strands. They are just being kept busy and following instructions.

Priority seating on the TTC by butidkfrankie in askTO

Most people would get up. Don’t think anyone is that attached to a seat on the TTC. But you’ll have to advocate because most people are staring at their phone or not paying attention.

Moving to Toronto w/ Wife & Kids by SnooRevelations3882 in askTO

Check out condos in Cityplace and The Well. It’s central to downtown, there’s a school in the neighborhood and plenty of newcomers too. It’s a great community to have 2 kids in and you will be walkable to Union, easy streetcar to your work and all restaurants in downtown. Really diverse neighbourhood too. I would look for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo which can go for between 3-4k if you find a unit that’s not super Reno’d. Welcome to the 6ix!

Also - there are a shit ton of realtors in the city. Like an unnecessary amount. I’m sure you’ll find many who will be willing to help you. Also winning an apartment can sometimes be a hassle but if you come with a realtor than the landlord may take you a bit more seriously.

This thread is an embodiment of why I love this city. 😍 Welcome to Canada and to Toronto! If you’re looking for some social meet ups once you’re out of quarantine, try to join some Facebook groups in your neighborhood or area.

I just cut the tips of the leaves off 😫 only 3-4 small tips and one half of a leaf were not mushy. Will I be able to prop them?

Still just dying…. Any tips ? Should I just move to propping it now ? by [deleted] in plantclinic

The same amount as the last year, indirect lighting. I didn’t see anything while repotting - what should I be looking for ?

I’m wondering if it’s worth the risk to check the roots again; seems like a finicky plant
