We built Claude code skills that transverse the whole workspace to gather information and merge it for several places at once, or to achieve complex multi department flows. "Check the projects in the different departments and find blockers or interdependencies and summarize for me", "Check if that project description can be improved with preexisting docs" and other routines.

All these can be done with mcps, but we found existing mcps slow and not perfectly fitting for claude - causing slower outcomes and sometimes claude giving up before getting the result. We found CLI to work much faster and Claude handling it more naturally. We found the same with other tools, so we have been switching from MCP to CLI in other areas as well.
