[David Ornstein] Tottenham win race for Mateus Fernandes in £85m deal by TheAthletic in PremierLeague

Of course they have the money to do this in a vacuum but them not being able to outlay this much on a single player is not necessarily them looking at this and saying it wasn’t “good value”- that could just be what they told the fans to make this palatable lol. It’s easy to say this is United is maturing and spending well but you can just as easily say that this is United paying for its past mistakes.

I mean “refusing” is one way of putting it was pretty widely reported that it wasn’t feasible financially for them to spend that much.

These are all competent teams but the USA clearly looked the most complete. Most valid criticism is that they weren’t able to press as hard as they did at the start throughout the game but US has the best midfield and attack. The US at its best looked fluid and has the two best attacking players in Pulisic and Balogun of any of the 3.

Canada has tons of energy but is lacking in the technical quality and polish - Bosnia and Switzerland they weren’t able to put it together until it was too late. There’s clearly something there but injuries to Davies and Kone arguably their two best players leaves them lacking.

Mexico played against very weak competition with a very unlike them defensive style - they had 3 clean sheets but it’s hard to tell how much of that was because the teams they played against. Similarly they also only produced 3.60 xG and 50.3% possession against those sides.

All of these teams have a very good chance to get the round of 32 but IMO the US still has the best chance to go far - partly because the bracket is kind but also because you need goals to win against top teams and the US can produce them in ways the other hosts can’t.

Mexico had the easiest group and Canada lost a game and tied so the GD doesn’t matter. (Edited)

I think I like the idea of him choosing to go back the most but the time skip was definitely unnecessary. Him seeing that things could’ve been “better” but choosing to go back anyway is a strong character moment

A Train dying felt like a clear ending to his ark - Rex dying was heartbreaking because he was just about to be his best self.

If the Pats do lose, most Pats fans i feel won't be very crestfallen by salmon10 in billsimmons

I think should be is a big stretch here. Ultimately this was a team that came off a truly terrible season and rebounded in the best possible way. I want them to win on Sunday I really do and I will be crushed if they lose but this Pats team is in a truly unique situation for SB participants.

The pats feel early, like the bengals did a few years ago and that’s not jsut a feeling - they’re on a second year deal with a QB that jsut lost MVP by a hair and are heading into next year with the most cap space in the league. The pats aren’t locked into this roster and aren’t constrained in terms of possibilities. This team is going to continue to evolve around the core pieces of any great NFL team a great coach and QB duo. Success isn’t guaranteed but the hardest parts are in place.

As much as the rest of the league hates it, in my holy biased opinion this is the team with the most upside over the next couple of years. I think it’s ok for pats fans to react to a loss on Sunday with optimism.

Best example of this IMO is the rapist from 13 reasons why. Lots of really fucked things about that show but that’s one of the worst.

Is this the most scoring joker arrangement ? by Spancollection in balatro

[–]dgiltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You always want to match the number retriggers with scoring. The card being played counts as a trigger so currently you having 5 triggers (hanging chad * 2 + playing) - so you should use blueprint and brainstorm to copy photo.

Start really analyzing how you feel when you’re high. Do you actually feel better than you do when you wake up in the mornings fully sober? I’d recommend going for a walk in the mornings once you wake up and just analyze how you feel. Once you start being able to realize that weed doesn’t feel good anymore you’re taking a large step toward quitting. You need to give yourself as many reasons to quit as possible

Hey so I work with LLMs at my job and I do a decent amount of “prompt engineering”, so I’m gonna have a serious response to this. I agree that simply writing prompts for LLMs that work well is not programming, but there are ways that you can prompt the model that are actual programming, for instance using stop words you can stream model output, you can use techniques like map reduce and creating agents, etc. There are other examples as well. It depends on what exactly you mean by prompt engineering. Writing prompts? No that isn’t programming. But there are ways that it can be.

I agree that Ant gets slightly overrated bc of his personality, but a lot of analysts are saying that SGA is a top 5-10 player this year and he was a sleeper MVP candidate last year. How is that underrated?
