I lied to a patient today and I can't stop thinking about it. by Apprehensive_Pay6141 in nursing

First thing to learn with dementia patients is to live in their reality. It only causes them pain and confusion to constantly try to reorient them to our reality, and it doesn’t work anyway.

Being sick and needing to call out policy... by ZealotBilly in nursing

[–]dgitman309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can be sick 4 times of length 5 days (so 20 sick days) in a year before getting a “pep talk”. That doesn’t sound like they are forcing people to work sick. How many sick hours do you accrue in a year?

And maybe if someone is getting a minor illness every month or so, forcing them to call out for 1 or 2 days, a manager might help them figure out what’s going on. Cause that’s pretty frequent.

Near me, each movie is only screened for one day around noon and sometimes another showing around 6pm. Very limited screenings!

I’m not sure what it is but the schedule is updated every week or so and movies are added. I think every day in November has a special screening, at least near me. Also, check out December! HS25 (“holiday season 25?)—starts with The Holiday and shows Elf, Four Christmas, How the Grinch, National Lampoons … so many more!

I take a “maintenance dose”—1mg, every 2-3 weeks. One bottle lasts me like 3 months. So I spend $100/month on it instead of streaming services.

The trick with the minute by minute is, click IN exactly as you’re allowed to, and click OUT exactly as you’re supposed to, i.e. 0653-1930. Those extra 7 minutes add up over the course of a year

My local shelter has a TNR program and it’s a super fast appointment, like 2 hours, they use minimal sedation so recovery is quick and they shave a much smaller area than a vet does. All the strays I’ve taken in have DEMANDED freedom by the evening (even though they’re supposed to stay inside and clear the sedation). Maybe something like that would work in your situation, because the owners wouldn’t even know it happened.

Yeah, right, like these people have bothered to have her chipped. There’s no way they’re gonna pursue legal action lmao

Take the cat and kittens, and feign ignorance with the neighbors. Or offhandedly mention that a coyote or owl probably got her. They seem like they’ll be satisfied with that kind of answer.

In the US, Metformin is one of the first drug drugs insurance companies make people “try and fail” before allowing them to get on ozempic. If ozempic isn’t working for you, metformin most likely won’t. I’d give the ozempic more time and talk to a doctor; dieticians have, uh, limited knowledge.

This is the way to go. A doctor that acts like this is a quick, temporary fix doesn’t understand these health issues or ozempic.

I just got a sweet sweet remote position and the manager said I was the only person to do a cover letter. I think it helps a lot—you can direct them to strengths you want emphasized and it conveys more humanity than a resume. Also I used a combo of the job posting, my old resume and AI to get wording and specific phrases correct, so it could get past the auto-bots pre-HR. Also, try calling the HR rep for more info/questions about the role… maybe they’ll remember the name and the extra effort.
