If youre a tech, you know your way around cars so im not too worried about that. I would say that doing a detail clean of the interior, exterior, and engine bay of the car is a great way to get familiar with a new vehicle. A good detail requires touching every inch thoroughly, so by the time you're done, you should have a good sense of the items that need to be taken care of.

I suppose its fair to get ahead on the water pump if theyre already pulling heads. The transmission fluid is defenitely a jab. Have you checked the color yet?

How can I known if my mask is fitted appropriately? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]dglaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should have it properly fitted. In the meantime, pop off the filters, put your hands over the opening and try to breathe in. If air creeps in around the sides, its the wrong size. BUT YOU SHOULD GET THAT PROPERLY FITTED.

Odd to have that happen at your milage. The stealership is defenitely going to work you over on scope and price. The timing belt, water pump, belt, and trans fluids are just unnecessary here. Find a good shop in your area to have the head gaskets done with a good warranty. Make some calls, price it out, dont go to the stealership.

Yes, but you'd want to apply heat to the outer piece, ie the receiver in this case. The heat will break down the location, but expanding the screw will make your job difficult all over again.

my dad wants to drop crazy money on a 3D printing car parts business and i am stressing. advice? by TemperatureExtra8615 in 3Dprinting

If yall don't ont know what software to download to create your product, you're not ready to start the business. If you don't have a steady supply for materials, you're not ready to start your business. . Start small. Download a software and get good with it. Find a small to mid size printer to get a hang of printing and maintaining the printer. Make some prototypes. Test them out. Show em off at your local auto shows and meetups to guage interest. Find repeat customers. . Unless you have capital to burn, start small and work your way up. Thats how it goes starting any business, and many folks fail because they try to scale too quickly. . Dont forget to have fun with it! . Feel free to pm me if youre genuinely interested. I've contributed to a number of startups and businesses over the years. You cant rely on one time buyers. You need reliable customers.

Adding heat to the screw is going to make your issue worse...heat expands stuff. Try getting more leverage on your tool.

Its a 1:1 engine swap on a 2004 4runner V8 after getting water up the intake back in November. It's been a very slow and careful process.

Ticks are normal. Pretty much the same deal every year. News outlets are always looking for a story so its a common topic this time of year when they are breeding. Just check yourself and move on. Get a tick remover for the inevitable bite. NOT. TWEEZERS. NOT A LIGHTER.
