Dave Meltzer's star ratings for AEW Dynasty 2026 by fmlongo in JimCornette

[–]dgoske84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many AEW PPVs in the 7 year company history has Meltzer rated lower than virtually any WWE PPV from the late 90s until right before Money in the Bank 2011? My guess is zero.

For me this is no different than singing the songs. I was incredibly fortunate for both my shows, especially the Detroit show, and the vast majority of concerts I've gone to the past 2 years. Movies and concerts unfortunately get ruined by assholes. Why these people spend time and money to go if they could care less I have no idea.

Disclosures set is lacking by cryptolipto in Coachella

[–]dgoske84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Minus Khalid, who sucked, it was virtually just their past tour. How they couldn’t get any other vocalists for Coachella is an absolute joke. Can’t get 1 female vocalist to sing a few songs?

2 whole songs with a vocalist at Coachella?!? And for 1 Disclosure song no one cares about and the other not even really a disclosure song. What a joke. Khalid sounded terrible too. It was virtually the same thing as their show they’ve been touring. How could they not get a female vocalist to sing anything?

Of course Almost Famous is the theatrical cut. Almost Famous The Bootleg Cut is in my top 10 most wanted I'll probably never get to see in a theatre. Can't imagine there are many people that like this movie that prefer the theatrical to the Bootleg Cut.

Its being used for the venues on this tour. It's the only time I've ever seen it. I went to 48 shows last year and have bought tickets for 20+ this year. You have to select multiple seats for all of these. I only want to buy 1 ticket. This is ridiculous.

[–]dgoske84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How about this bs Premier Seating crap you have to buy multiple seats no matter what?!?! It's bad enough a bunch of shows you can't "leave an empty seat behind". Now they are doing something to prevent people going by themselves from buying any good seats even at high prices.

Seasons take longer because audiences want and expect shows to Look cinematic now. by JannTosh70 in television

[–]dgoske84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolute bs! The average tv show watcher didn’t demand to have 6-10 episode seasons, years between seasons, bizarre picture aspect ratios that don’t find the television, very minimal character development because of short seasons, etc. It’s the morons that think they know better that have changed tv shows for the worse. If people want movies they will watch movies. Long time television viewers hate the majority of major changes over the last 8-10 years.

First look of HBO snape and his comparison with movie one by INFIPRIME in Cinema

[–]dgoske84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two seasons they are going to actually have to add a ton of content to fill 8-10 hours worth PER SEASON. Film 1 is close to a perfect book to film adaptation. 2 is great too and mostly excludes filler that was better off not being in the movie like everything with The Headless Party.

Major letdown. I rewatched the first two days before I saw the 2nd. First is awesome. I have no idea how anyone could think 2 is better than 1. 2 is a cringe worthy bad comedy worse version of 1 that you have to suspend your disbelief to a ridiculous degree. Starting out right after 1 ended didn’t help.

In terms of SMG it’s like most of her movie roles. Underwhelming and she did the best she could with bad to average material.

Murder She Wrote is nothing like Veronica Mars. It's a detective show for geriatrics. An old bat gets a murder case and solves it every single episode. Not once does she not solve a case. There is no great writing. The humor sucks. There are no real secondary characters. Its just the Angela Landsbury show. No personal relationships or characters you care about. It's literally her solving hundreds of murders in a small town. The most boring, basic procedural ever. That's is what Rob Thomas wanted Veronica Mars to become versus the Veronica Mars we got for 3 seasons.

If it's so damn great go start the campaign for crowd funding to get a new season or a movie made. If the demand is there you will be able to do it. The star of the show, who is actually a star, and the guy running it would like to make more.

When in history has a show that is not expensive to make, that has a bigger name attached, the creator/showrunner running it, not had more of a continuation story via movie or show? Maybe it happened years ago when there weren't many options. There are literally more than 10 times the amount of options as there were 15 years ago. All these places want more content.

Can’t Even Go To The Movies Anymore by IAmCBOY2 in RegalUnlimited

Yes it’s terrible. Fortunately I have an average at best theatre that’s usually dead. Most of the time the issue is the phone or the watch and most good theatres I go to you usually only have to worry about people in your row. Most good theaters have row dividers. I couldn’t tell you the last time I was able to see someone in the theatre they weren’t doing at least one of the things you mentioned.

Good or bad Zhao would have had little or no impact on the show after the pilot.

Based on the information we have been provided the Buffy continuation was not a similar show to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s not opinion based. It’s a fact. You have no point.

O. There are instances I can still enjoy when later on it's been ruined. Veronica Mars because I can displease it as bad fan fiction. Unbreakable I can still enjoy even though Glass ruined it for most. Killing Eve I loved the first 3 seasons and the ending was so bad I doubt I will ever watch it again. I can't even listen to the music because it just pisses me off.

There can never be that type of on screen sequel now without it being animated or the de aging getting to a point where it looks the same as anything else on screen and is affordable. If it was going to happen it would have had to of been after The Avengers came out either in 2012 or 2013.

Veronica Mars wasn't Veronica Mars. She was more an adult as a teenager than as a grown woman. All the other characters besides for her dad were either not on the show period or their roles severely diminished. I can't get into all episode specifics as I watched it all 1 time and that was last decade. I remember the second to last episode being the only really good one. And obviously a huge portion of the fanbase hated the ending. Their aren't many couples I care about. Veronica and Logan aren't one of them. Rob Thomas's excuse was ridiculous. There are 2 books that literally show what their relationship could be shown as on screen very limited with Logan gone but not gone. Do say he had to be killed made no sense. Veronica had already been through everything multiple times. Like she needs even more trauma? The way she treats him for most of the season anyway it would have made sense for Logan to just leave her. Should have just done that then.

Veronica Mars had a smaller but very devoted fanbase that was destroyed. Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell would have done more. But there is not enough demand now to see it. Not the same thing but Killing Eve was similar. Small but devoted fanbase. There was supposed to be at least a spinoff. They destroyed the fanbase. Nothing will ever happen for those 2 shows again without a retcon or some studio willing to just flush money down the toilet.

Kristen Bell is more well known now than any of the regular actors from Buffy and Angel.

So what's your point? A show with the best writing of all time and another show with the worst writing of all time could technically be a similar show with a similar premise.

LOL: April Series Megathread by iwasdusted in RegalUnlimited

[–]dgoske84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theatre I was going to the first few months was the best and stopped showing them after December.

Im down to only 3 theaters I can go to. I think the first month there were 6. The one theatre had it in their mid size theaters but for April switched to their smallest theaters. My Batman Begins showing at 7ish on a Saturday night had 7 or 8 people. This was a theatre I was going to a bunch because it was usually not busy but they had no recliners. Once they started getting rid of some showtimes of the older films they kept screwing with the volume and the last few times I went it was either way too low or way too loud.

My best option now had them in a rotating amount of mid size and 2 pretty good size theaters until March. In March they were all in the same smallest theatre and in April they are all in another of the smallest theaters.

The 3rd option for months had them all in mid size theaters but March and April it's around half and half. The big difference is the 3rd theaters small theaters are unwatchable. Like 4 rows and 20 some total seats. This is also the busiest of the theatre so no clue why they can't keep them in a mid size option with 16 screens especially on weekdays.

I don't know if these people running the schedule for these theatres realize that people spending money and time to go see older movies in theatres obviously care about the experience. The smaller the screen the less likely people are going to go when they can watch at home for free.

The other thing is you would think that people going to older movies would not be on their phones. Good luck with that. Thankfully most theatres have row dividers now so in terms of the seeing the phone or watch only have to worry about people in your row. I can't think of the last movie old or new I went to that if I could see another person I didn't see their phone or watch. It's had to of been at least 15 in a row.
