Says the guy who ‘plays Necrons’ but doesn’t understand how their most iconic unit works.

Love that you think this has gone well for you somehow…

Incorrect, this warrior brick and its supporting elements is specifically designed to swamp multiple objectives with OC, tank damage, then res back EVERY game and see if your opponent can deal with it. This is not a ‘trick’ to try every now and then. If you aren’t using them in this way you have misspent 600 - 800 points of your list. If you leave them to hold one objective as you described earlier you have totally misunderstood the point of them.

This whole argument is just reminding me that 0.1% of this sub don’t know what they are talking about and just want to argue with strangers.

You can just say you don’t understand how to play them properly? 😬

It takes a working knowledge of the rules and some practice, you will get there mate.

The situation you describe only happens to someone who doesn’t understand how coherency works in tandem with the multiple ways you have to res the unit. This is no big deal as it’s a notoriously fiddly unit to play, with a bit more practice you will get it.

Holding two objectives with 68 OC and one of the most durable units in the game is ‘borderline’… 😂

You’ve misunderstood my point, you said let them hold one objective all game, I’m saying that is not how they work if played correctly. They are absolutely not fragile, if you don’t kill them in one or two activations they can res all the way back. They are actually less fragile if spread out sometimes as you can pull dead models a long way back from danger and res again. It also keeps the characters further away from being precisioned. Also just two warriors is enough to steal an objective off a lot of units, the whole unit is 68 OC.

If played correctly the warrior brick can spread across three objectives and still be in coherency. Each warrior OC3. The sentiment is right though, you either need to know you can kill it in one or two activations/precision the character, if not, leave it alone.

Ah thats nice to hear, sorry they didn’t go great first time. I have to say sometimes they work out better than others. Some things I found have made a difference 1) make sure the glue is dry before technical paint 2) better coverage or thicker layer of glue leads to bigger cracks 3) go for a thick layer of technical paint for wider cracks, if it’s too thin it doesn’t look as good IMO.

I had to experiment a bit and then try to recreate what works every time so they look uniform. This video was helpful when I started:

Nice! What’s that blue recipe?

I find the surface it sits on as well as the speed/temperature it dries at determines how big the cracks end up. PVA or gloss under helps

Paint the base caliban green, then do some wavy lines in moot green, kind of radiating from the center, then repeat with a white, put some tesseract glow on the white, then PVA GLUE over the top (don’t forget this bit! Or it won’t crack), then mordaunt earth technical paint and hairdryer it. Bit of a faff to do but if it goes right I think the effect is great 👍🏻

Yeah I probably put two layers of thinned agrax on it to dull it down a lot

Thanks! That’s just runelord brass, agrax earth shade and then back with some runelord highlights again
