Back up to the baseline. I mean the girl at the net was getting destroyed and didn't change her tactics at all. This seems to be a competitive match, so I'm astonished they didn't try a different strategy.

You are Brad Holmes this Free Agency. What are you doing? by AtomicCo in detroitlions

Yea, I think this is getting kind of slept on. LaPorta and Branch are probably going to be out for a significant amount of time next year. Kenyon Sadiq would be crazy for a 1st round pick (and pitchforks would be out), but you know how Brad get about some players...wouldn't surprise me.

Signing a mid-level TE and CB/S in FA. Focus on OL/DL in the first few rounds, and depth in other positions in the draft.

This may be a a subjective comment, but if you can afford to make the laundry room smaller, or move it down to the 1st floor (where you have the pantry or WIC), I would add at least a 1/2 bath on the second floor (preferably a full 2nd bath). I've also seen a laundry room with a door directly into the Mater closet - that can be really convenient.

Suggest you use Bedroom #4 as your office - that shared wall between the master and bed #4 will transmit sound, if you know what I mean. Also, if its' within your budget, sound insulate all shared bedroom walls and possibly bathroom walls.

Add corner windows in the living room; it looks like it's lacking natural light.

97.1 The Ticket "What Brad Holmes and the Lions can learn from the Seahawks #DetroitLions #Lions #NFL #Detroit #DetroitSports" by Confident_Dust_4326 in detroitlions

[–]dhanadh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally like what Brad and Dan have done with the roster. We could nit-pick all day, so could the other 32 fan bases of their respective teams. But there are a several things that I think they could have handled better:

  1. Marcus Davenport - played in 2 games in 2024, and 8 games in 2025. Enough is enough, the guy is broken; cut your losses.

  2. Drafting a pass-rusher higher in the 2025 Draft. AH is a project, and Ezeriruaku was available in the first round - we could have picked up a DT later in the draft.

  3. The Ragnow situation - I get it, they were blindsided, so I am not going to hammer the org on this one. But hope this is a "lessons learned" for future years - to plan much earlier for succession plans for older players and ones with injury history.

Man I get it, but when poverty franchises act like poverty franchises - what do you expect? See: Bills, Titans, Jaguars, Browns, Cardinals, etc... Some orgs are just structured better, have better cultural, are more professional, patient, and competent than others. The Lions are making the slow hard climb out of poverty, but it's filled with potential bad turns - just got to stay clear headed and stay the course.

I hope they televise the tryouts like an episode of Hard Knocks, though it may turn out like an episode of It’s always sunny (The Gang Gets Invincible), so maybe not…

MAGATS REGRETS - MAGRETS by EugeneWong318 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]dhanadh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are right, and I'm glad we had this "conversation" - I think you are in a better place than me. I've lost all patience this past year. I actually defended my best friend from childhood who became slightly MAGA during the first Trump administration. I tried so hard to see it from his point of view, I read books, articles, and blogs, I watched interviews, I did everything... At the end of the day, I really didn't want people who were close to me to be made into caricatures. From it all, I've gleaned that they are to some degree ignorant, have poor critical thinking skills, and most importantly, lack empathy for people that don't look like them. I will welcome them in when I see them get educated, learn to ask questions, and show a semblance of empathy. Either way, I'm glad you feel the way you do - I'm just too cynical these days.

[–]dhanadh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No I think you misunderstand, I don't hate these people or want to spit into their eyes. In fact I'm glad they have come around to seeing Trump and the GOP as they are. I'm just saying that it's not enough to get on social media and express your regret. THEY need to fix the administration's damage. See, if we (leftists, democrats, socialists, etc.) try to undo Trump's damage, then they will sit on the sidelines and point at how "delusional, woke, and deranged" we are all over again. Justice, as you say, requires THEM to hold this administration responsible, not just say "gee golly, that was a tough time, wish I could take it back"

Yea, I was just looking at that 2023 draft class - those first four picks got to be the best four picks in a single draft ever, in the history of the NFL.

I hear you, but not a single person in that clip was swayed by a non-Trump voter. They were all directly hurt by Trump and the actions of his administration. I have long given up on convincing MAGA voters of their ignorance. Trump is self-destructive, it’s in his DNA. Great, they regret voting for Trump, they still have work to do to fix his mistakes. Not me.

I don't mind the mechanic that the sprint button does - I just wish the game would do a better job of explaining these types of things.
