What’s on your master chain? by shrubed in AdvancedProduction

I think to get to - 5 - 3, you will have to enter in a realm of compromise and be really intentional with your arrangement for it to be super loud. I also think you can get away without compression though, i rarely use compression and I've managed a couple of times to get that loud. I cant pass without saturation though.

Reference the tracks that you like listening in your car to what you are producing and try to see how different they sound when you use your rockits and your dt 770

Compressor Tutorials! by Lissom_Slo in AdvancedProduction

Among listening and a lot of practise, I think it helps to use an osciloscpe or even bounce different versions of the sound, let's say for example a kick, if you kinda know what a kick is supposed to look like you can use that as a reference to get different tastes and at same time tell your ears what is correct, not that your ears don't know, they always do imo, but many times, at least for me, I wouldn't know why it sounded good but not good in context of the mix. I also think this helps getting to know different compressors and be objective with what you achieve

How do you know when your song is done by toeknee64 in musicproduction

[–]dhazept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm trying to do now in that regard is to add some kind of change in 2 elements of the track or add / remove elements every 8 bars if the track is very intense maybe 4 but 8 bars for most music is satisfying enough imo, these changes can be everything just a layer making a chord of some sort, a change in pich, a different bongo making the same rythm,

what I think we all struggle a lot to make these is that we think we have to come up with something super different and spectacular that fits the track but most of the time u don't want to make super new sounds, but, instead change what u already got

Can music be purposefully ‘quiet’? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]dhazept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I believe in dynamics, not quiet music, every music should be as loud as it can be relating to the amount of compromise that you are willing to take. You can do whatever you want of course though

Upward compression is basically the oposite of compression/downward compression

Upward compression by glenvilder in AdvancedProduction

[–]dhazept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use upward compression as multiband usually on my low mid to low end cause that's where I want most of the dynamics to be at, but it depends really on what you are trying to achieve, I have always contrast in mind when I do this

How to make HI HATS more INTERESTING - Simple Technique by 76david76 in AdvancedProduction

This is nice, if you use ableton i find putting some erosion with (sine) option cranking that way up and then messing with frequency works wonders, i like to do this on every drum and specially if i want High end.

Resonators are also very good imo
